12 Peers Theater announced their ninth season with two regional premieres and the return of Mythburgh. Featuring plays by two of the hottest playwrights on the contemporary theatre scene, 12 Peers Theater's season brings the return of Robert Askins to Pittsburgh following City Theatre Company's 2016 production of his play Hand to God and presents an experimental retelling by Jaclyn Backhaus of one of the most compelling tales in our nation's history.
12 Peers Theater begins their eighth season with Mythburgh, a site-specific performance and storytelling series. Exploring the myths, both fact and fiction, that make Pittsburgh great, Mythburgh continues to create and tell locally sourced legends with local artists.
12 Peers Theater announces their eighth season featuring the return of Mythburgh, a site-specific performance and storytelling series, and two local premieres, Blank and Everybody. Blank is a performance piece by Nassim Soleimanpour, the mastermind behind 2016's White Rabbit Red Rabbit. Everybody is a 2018 Pulitzer Prize finalist by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins that remixes the classic Everyman for a modern audience. The play features a rotating cast of performers, ensuring no two performances are the same.
12 Peers Theater is at 937 Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA.
Founded in 2011, and taking their name from the Twelve Peers of Charlemagne, 12 Peers Theater is a 501(c)(3) organization. Our mission is to create exciting, engaging, and experimental theatrical productions with a focus on myth and cultural identity for new and established theatre lovers in the Greater Pittsburgh Area, through various in person and online programs, season after season.
