Singin' in the Rain in Broadway SINGIN' IN THE RAIN
Benedum Center
All the ingredients of a Tinsel Town headline - the starlet, the leading man and a love affair that could change lives and make or destroy careers! In silent movies, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont are a hot item, but behind the scenes things aren't always as they appear on the big screen! Meanwhile, when Lina's screechy voice might mean the end of her career (and the studio) in the new talking pictures, Don and the producers turn to a talented young actress to do the talking and singing for her. This extraordinary score is a downright downpour of magical musical: Singin' in the Rain, Make 'Em Laugh and the eponymous Good Mornin'.

"Sheer Comic Genius.. He is the most brilliant stand-up comedian of his generation." - The New York Times "Hilarious! He has the acid snap of a white Richard Pryor, merged with all the Monty Pythons at once." Toronto Star "He walks onstage to the roaring tumult usually reserved for rock stars and soon has the audience busting a gut about the Spanish Inquisition and chaos theory. Such is the phenomenon of Eddie Izzard, funniest man, in, well, pretty much all of the known universe." The LA Times

When the brilliant Noises Off begins, a troupe of English actors is rehearsing the sex comedy Nothing On. As we eavesdrop, the director explains his theatrical philosophy: "Bang you're on. Bang you've said it. Bang you're off." If only things would go that smoothly.
