Amalgamation Theatre Collective makes its Philadelphia debut with a poignant retelling of Medea's story, crafted by Jess Shoemaker and directed by Haley Arnold. This production explores the life of Medea before she became synonymous with tragedy, guided by a Greek chorus amidst evocative soundscapes. It seeks to recontextualize her character, offering insights into her past, emotions, and the circumstances that led her to become a figure of infamy. The show runs for three performances at The Deep End Studios, inviting audiences to witness a deeper understanding of a woman often labeled a villain.
