LES MISERABLES star Ramin Karimloo just received his first-ever Tony nomination for his portrayal of 'Jean Valjean', and he stopped by KATIE this morning to chat. Watch the interview below!

Editor's Note: I've known composer Scott Alan for almost as long as BroadwayWorld.com has been in existence. We met very shortly after the web site started, and were excited to showcase one of his first songs, 'Never Neverland (Fly Away)' at our first ever concert at Joe's Pub (sung by the wonderful Stephanie J. Block). I was intrigued by the album after seeing a preview of the cover art (by the uber-talented Logan Hicks), and even more curious to hear the album itself, his first to feature just himself instead of the usual line-up of talent from Broadway and beyond. There's always something special about hearing a composer sing his own songs, but I was still unprepared when he shared with me a preview copy for a first listen. What I didn't expect as I hit play was for it to 'ruin' my entire afternoon, as I found myself both unable to concentrate on anything else, and, as it completed, I quickly hit 'repeat' to bring me back to the first track and listen all over again. Then, I wrote him my first fan letter, and asked him if he'd share both a track (of my choosing) as well as a note explaining the origins of both the album, and the song.

Ramin Karimloo is currently starring in his Broadway debut as 'Jean Valjean' in the revival of Les Miserables, playing at the Imperial Theatre. Karimloo is also set to release his latest EP, titled 'The Road to Find Out: East,' which will be available starting April 7, 2014 via Big Hand Recordings. The EP features what Karimloo calls 'Broadgrass', which is an amalgamation between Broadway and Bluegrass music. The actor just released the video for the single 'Losing' from the album, and you can check it out below!

The cast of Broadway's LES MISERABLES revival raised the barricade on ABC's Good Morning America today, with a stirring performance of 'One Day More.'

'Sesame Street' continues to be on top of its pop culture references, and this time it's taken inspiration from the Broadway musical LES MISERABLES -- which is returning to the Great White Way this season. In the clip below, 'Jean Bon-Bon (Cookie Monster) is a very sad French guy in pursuit of cookies in the streets of Paris.
