The La Jolla Playhouse production of the new American musical HANDS ON A HARDBODY will open Thursday, March 21, 2013 at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street), following a preview period that begins Saturday, February 23, 2013. Check out a just-released television spot below!

Just yesterday, producers Broadway Across America (John Gore, Thomas B. McGrath, Beth Williams), Rich Entertainment Group (Bob and Mindy Rich), Barbara Whitman, Latitude Link, Dede Harris, Sharon Karmazin, and Howard and Janet Kagan just announced that the La Jolla Playhouse production of the new American musical HANDS ON A HARDBODY will bow on Broadway in the 2012-2013 season. Recently, La Jolla Playhouse's world premiere of HANDS ON A HARDBODY, starring Tony Award-nominees Keith Carradine, Hunter Foster and Mary GorDon Murray, previewed their songs in a rehearsal hall, and the production team talked about the show.

La Jolla Playhouse's Hands on a Hardbody will run April 27 - June 17, 2012 in the Mandell Weiss Theatre. The world-premiere, commissioned musical has a book by Pulitzer Prize winner Doug Wright (I Am My Own Wife, Creditors), lyrics by Amanda Green (High Fidelity), music by Trey Anastasio (lead singer of the popular band Phish) and Amanda Green, with direction by Neil Pepe (Speed-the-Plow) and musical staging by Benjamin Millepied (BLACK SWAN). Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook has returned to the Allen Room for its fourteenth season celebrating the diversity of American popular song. For 16 nights the series is exploring the best of the golden age of musical standards through to today's most dynamic songwriting.

TV: Lin-Manuel Miranda & Mandy Gonzalez Perform 'Empire State Of Mind' at AMERICAN SONGBOOK! Lincoln Center's acclaimed series American Songbook has returned to the Allen Room for its fourteenth season celebrating the diversity of American popular song. The series kicked off last night, January 11, with a concert by Lin-Manuel Miranda. The evening opened with a surprise appearance by his In The Heights co-star, Mandy Gonzalez, for a remix of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' Gotham anthem, 'Empire State of Mind'.
