The producers of the Tony Award Nominated Broadway musical CATCH ME IF YOU CAN announced yesterday, August 9, that the show will play its final performance on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at The Neil Simon Theatre, 250 W. 52nd Street. The musical will have played 32 preview and 170 regular performances. The first national tour will launch in the Fall of 2012 at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, RI. CATCH ME IF YOU CAN captures the astonishing true story of Frank Abagnale, Jr., a world-class con artist who passed himself off as a doctor, a lawyer, and a jet pilot-all before the age of 21. With straight-arrow FBI agent Carl Hanratty on Frank's trail, we're off on a jet-setting, cat-and-mouse chase, as a jazzy, swinging-sixties score keeps this adventure in constant motion. In the end, Agent Hanratty learns he and Frank aren't so very different after all, and Frank finds out what happens when love catches up to a man on the run. The World Premiere of Robin and the 7 Hoods - A New Musical featuring a book by Tony Award winner Rupert Holmes and songs by four-time Academy Award winners Sammy Cahn and Jimmy Van Heusen. 'Catch' a sneak peek right here on STAGE TUBE! Stage veteran Tom Wopat (Frank Abagnale Sr.) croons '50 Checks' from the world premiere of Catch Me If You Can the musical. Catch Me If You Can plays its world premiere at The 5th Avenue Theatre in Seattle July 28-August 16.

Adapted from the screenplay by Jeff Nathanson and the book written by Frank Abagnale Jr. and Stan Redding, the original musical CATCH ME IF YOU CAN boasts a book by four-time Tony Award-winner Terrence McNally, who joins forces with the collaborative team behind the hit musical Hairspray (which also premiered at the 5th), including five-time Tony Award-winning director Jack O'Brien, Tony Award-winning choreographer Jerry Mitchell, and Tony Award-winning composing team Marc Shaiman (music & lyrics) and Scott Wittman (lyrics).
