SpeakEasy Stage Company will posthumously honor former Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino for his sustained and generous support of the arts at its 2015 Spring Gala, to be held Tuesday, April 14 from 6-9 PM at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, One Avenue De Lafayette, in Boston.

Upon hearing the news of Former Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino's death, Huntington Theatre Company Managing Director Michael Maso issued the following statement:

Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (HMH) today released Mayor for a New America - a behind-the-scenes look at the career of former Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino, one of the longest-serving major-city mayors in United States history, and one of the most popular politicians in modern memory.

Two hundred and fifty guests including former Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino joined Huntington Theatre Company Chairman Carol G. Deane, President Mitchell J. Roberts, Managing Director Michael Maso, and Artistic Director Peter DuBois, as well as Boston Center for the Arts Chairman Philip W. Lovejoy and Executive Director Veronique Le Melle on Monday, September 29 for a ribbon-cutting, rededication, and celebration in honor of the 10th anniversary of the Stanford Calderwood Pavilion at the Boston Center for the Arts. The Handel and Haydn Society (H+H) and Artistic Director Harry Christophers have announced H+H's 2014-2015 Season-its 200th-featuring the Period Instrument Orchestra and Chorus performing works from the Baroque and Classical eras. Highlights include a collection of some of the greatest oratorios ever written, stellar guest artists, and two brilliant showcases for H+H Concertmaster Aisslinn Nosky. The season opens with a concert that commemorates H+H's first public program at Boston's King's Chapel on December 25, 1815.

A beautiful evening of Shakespeare's words performed by ASP's Resident Acting Company and Youth and music by the incomparable cellist Yo-Yo Ma honored 10 Luminaries, 10 years and raised a remarkable $100,000 for Actors' Shakespeare Project. A sold-out crowd filled Cambridge's Royal Sonesta Grand Ballroom for Bidding for Good auction, reception and sit-down dinner. with rapturous applause and standing ovations throughout the evening on Monday December 2. In celebration of the 75th season, the Celebrity Series of Boston will partner with British artist Luke Jerram to bring his public piano installation, Play Me I'm Yours to Boston from Friday, September 27 to Monday, October 14, 2013. Celebrity Series will install 75 pianos throughout the Boston and Cambridge area to commemorate the anniversary season, bearing the simple instruction, "Play Me, I'm Yours." Located in public spaces throughout Boston and Cambridge, the pianos are available for any member of the public to play and enjoy.

In an effort to inspire runners to honor and support the people most affected by the tragic events that occurred in Boston on April 15, Saucony has created the #BostonStrong Lace Medallion to be offered as a fundraiser for The One Fund Boston. The two-sided medallion features the viral hashtag and unity motto #BostonStrong on one side and a custom-designed, laced-up heart icon on the other.

Concluding its 9th season - 'Turning Toward Home' - Actors' Shakespeare Project will present its production of William Shakespeare's Pericles, a drama of the adventures and tribulations of Pericles, whose journey involves surprises, challenges and sweet reunion at the Modern Theatre at Suffolk University tonight, April 20 to May 12.
