The Martha Graham Dance Company will host two special events as it presents The EVE Project as part of its Joyce Theater season, April 2–14, 2019. The EVE Project celebrates the power of women and the upcoming 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. It honors not only the progress of women in the last 100 years, but also provides entrée into some of today's most pressing conversations about gender and power.

$15 student rush tickets are available tonight for DESTINY RISING at The Joyce Theater (175 8th Avenue), an evening of dance artistry to benefit the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation College Scholarship Program. Many of New York City and the country's most renowned dancers and dance companies will perform tonight at 7:30pm. To date the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation (Founder/Executive Director Joe Lanteri) has awarded $2.5 million in college scholarships to 250 dancers all over the country. There will be $75-$100k in college scholarships awarded tonight and in 2018, NYCDAF has awarded $450,000 in college scholarships. The evening will also feature a new piece commissioned by the NYC Dance Alliance Foundation featuring their 2018 scholarship winners.
The CUNY Dance Initiative (CDI), an innovative residency program for New York City choreographers, celebrates its fifth anniversary with a series of performances this spring. Co-presented with Baruch Performing Arts Center, the 5th Year Fest will feature works by 11 artists/companies in two separate programs that exemplify the diversity of dance styles, perspectives, and cultural expressions that has come through CDI's doors.
