Artistic Director Stanton Welch's spectacular production of The Nutcracker returns and ventures across Houston this holiday season.

Ballet Hisp nico, the nation's premier Latino dance organization, announces the Fall 2017 Adult Class Schedule, with classes in Caribbean Flow, Afro-Latin Jazz Fusion, and Salsa. Celebrating over 45 years of dance and culture, the Ballet Hisp nico School of Dance is a leading center of excellence in dance education located at 167 W. 89th Street, NYC.

ODC Theater will present the West Coast premiere of Kate Weare Company's MARKSMAN, October 5 - 7.

The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc. will present the return of the French choreographer Maguy Marin, and her dance troupe Compagnie Maguy Marin, to The Joyce Theater for the first time in nearly a decade. From October 25-29, the company will perform the U.S. premiere of its provocative and controversial 2014 evening length work, BiT.

The Dance Gallery Festival will return for their 11th annual New York performance showcase, Friday, November 3, at Gelsey Kirkland Arts Center, 29 Jay St. in Brooklyn, and on November 4-5 at the Ailey Citigroup Theater, 405 W 55th Street, NYC with 25 artists in a weekend of groundbreaking work performed in three distinct and separate programs.

Trisha Brown Dance Company (TBDC) launches its 2017-2018 season with a busy calendar, showcasing masterpieces and other beloved works by one of the most influential choreographers from the postmodern era. Highlights include a week-long run at The Joyce Theater (December 12-17); live performances at New York City Center as part of the 2017 Fall for Dance Festival (October 2 & 3) and at Lincoln Center as part of Paul Taylor American Modern Dance's 2018 season (March 14, 16, 18 & 20); and touring in the U.S. and France. This fall also features a public Community Memorial honoring the life and work of Trisha Brown presented by Danspace Project. (October 28).

Pig Iron Theatre Company, the internationally acclaimed, Philadelphia-based organization, has announced that the world premiere of its ambitious, timely production A Period of Animate Existence will take place September 22-24 at the Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts at the University of Pennsylvania in the 2017 Fringe Festival, co-presented by FringeArts and Annenberg Center Live.

American Lyric Theater presents The New Crew, a salon including performances by and discussions with American Lyric Theater's newest Resident Artists in the Composer Librettist Development Program: composers Shuying Li, Andy Teirstein, and Liliya Ugay; librettists Lorene Cary, Julian Crouch, and Lila Palmer; and dramaturg Antigoni Gaitana.

On September 19th 2017, opening night of a three-week engagement by Twyla Tharp Dance at the Joyce Theater, a program insert listed an addition to the roster previously slated for the evening.

The Sarasota Ballet announces today the line-up for Inside The Studio 2017 2018, a series of unique and intimate opportunities to step behind the curtain of The Sarasota Ballet, with demonstrations, coaching and talks from repetiteurs, choreographers and directors.

Linda Shelton, Executive Director of The Joyce Theater, is thrilled to welcome Nordic contemporary dance troupe Tero Saarinen Company back onto its Chelsea stage with the New York premiere of Mr. Saarinen's Morphed, from October 18 22.

Dancer/choreographer Yin Yue presents her YY Dance Company in a program of her explosive works, including the world premiere of Vanishing Point, for an ensemble of five; a solo for Yin drawn from her Within Reach, and the dynamic Through the Fracture of Light, two weekends, September 16 & 17, and 23 & 24 at the Peridance Salvatore Capezio Theater, 126 East 13th Street.

Daniil Simkin, a Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre since 2012, will join Staatsballett Berlin as a permanent member at the start of the company's 2018-2019 season, it was announced today by Staatsballett Berlin.

Tap dance company Dorrance Dance, founded by Artistic Director and 2015 MacArthur Fellow Michelle Dorrance, announces New York City performance dates, new works, and tour schedule for the 2017-2018 season. The season will include performances at renowned venues across the United States and in Canada, Germany, and France.

Due to Hurricane Harvey, Houston Ballet is unable to perform the opening two productions at the company's home venue. However, Houston Ballet is pleased to report that select performances of fall programming have been rescheduled at THE HOBBY CENTER - SAROFIM HALL. For a limited time from September 22-24 at The Hobby Center, Houston Ballet presents Sir Kenneth MacMillan's Mayerling, and will be the first North-American company to perform this compelling production. Originally premiering on February 14, 1978 at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden by the Royal Ballet, Mayerling also had a triumphant American premiere in Los Angeles that same year and was the subject of a London Weekend Television film, winning the 1978 music category of the prestigious Prix Italia - the first ballet to do so.
