The National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA) has announced that its 5th annual talent showcase will take place on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 7:30pm at Broadway's Minskoff Theatre (200 W 45th St). At this 'Super Bowl' of amateur musical theater, student winners of awards competitions that take place across the United States will perform songs exclusively from the musical theater canon in the quest to win the coveted title of Best Performance by an Actress or Best Performance by an Actor and a Jimmy(TM) Award, named for legendary Broadway producer/theater owner James M. Nederlander, in recognition of his generous support of young artists.

The Broadway Dreams Foundation will partner with UCLA to present a week-long Summer Performing Arts Intensive on the UCLA campus June 17 - June 23, 2013. Olivier Award-nominated director Stafford Arima (bare, Altar Boyz, Ragtime), Emmy Award-nominee Spencer Liff (So You Think You Can Dance, Smash), and a roster of Broadway veterans to be announced will work with aspiring performers of all ages in preparation for Circle of Dreams, a unique Broadway concert open to the public at UCLA's Freud Playhouse.
Following the end of its run on March 24th at The Pershing Square Signature Center, Signature Theatre's critically acclaimed production of David Henry Hwang's play THE DANCE AND THE RAILROAD, directed by May Adrales, will play a limited run at The Inaugural Wuzhen Theatre Festival in Wuzhen, China, May 9-12, 2013. The entire production, featuring Ruy Iskandar as Ma and Yuekun Wu as Lone, will make the transfer. This marks the first time that a play by David Henry Hwang has been performed in mainland China.
MASTERWORKS BROADWAY has just announced the signing of the Original Broadway Cast Recording of Kinky Boots. Produced by Cyndi Lauper, William Wittman and Stephen Oremus, the album will be recorded on March 14, 15 and 25 in anticipation of a May 2013 release.

Lynch, a stage veteran of Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company and The Second City, will be making her Broadway debut.
