Signature Theatre presents The Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World AKA The Negro Book of the Dead, written by Suzan-Lori Parks and directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz. The production runs now through Sunday, December 11, with an official opening slated for Sunday, November 13, 2016 at The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Sarah DeLappe's All-Female Soccer Play THE WOLVES Gets Encore Off-Broadway

The world premiere of The Wolves, Sarah DeLappe's debut play, was met with widespread critical acclaim and sold-out houses when it opened on September 11 of this year. In response to popular demand, The Playwrights Realm, by arrangement with Scott Rudin and Eli Bush, will present a limited, encore engagement of the production from November 29-December 24.

Signature Theatre's production of The Death of the Last Black Man in the Whole Entire World, by Pulitzer Prize-winner Suzan-Lori Parks and directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz, begins tonight, October 25, and runs through December 4, 2016 with a Sunday, November 13 opening night in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

THE COLOR PURPLE to Welcome New 'Mister' on Broadway

Beginning performances Tuesday, November 15, Nathaniel Stampley will assume the role of Mister in John Doyle's Tony Award-winning production of the Broadway musical, THE COLOR PURPLE. Isaiah Johnson, who originated the role, will give his final performance on Sunday, November 13.

The new musical COME FROM AWAY will begin performances on Broadway on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre (236 West 45th Street) and officially open Sunday, March 12, 2017, following productions at Washington DC's Ford's Theatre (Friday, September 2 - Sunday, October 16, 2016) and Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre (Tuesday, November 15, 2016 - Sunday, January 8, 2017), and two special benefit concert performances in Gander, Newfoundland (Saturday, October 29, 2016). Tickets will go on sale to the general public beginning today, October 24, 2016 at 10am EST, and will be available at www.telecharge.com (212.239.6200).

MCC Theater's All the Ways to Say I Love You will be filmed for the New York Public Library's Theatre on Film and Tape Archive (TOFT) to be preserved for the archives at Lincoln Center. The filming will occur at tonight's (October 20th) performance. The twice-extended All The Ways ends its celebrated run this Sunday, October 23, 2016.

Judith Light-Led ALL THE WAYS TO SAY I LOVE YOU Will Be Filmed This Week

MCC Theater has announced that All The Ways To Say I Love You will be filmed for the New York Public Library's Theatre on Film and Tape Archive (TOFT) to be preserved for the archives at Lincoln Center.  The filming will occur at the Thursday, October 20th performance.

Original Star Mary Beth Peil Will Journey to Broadway in ANASTASIA

Just announced, Mary Beth Peil will star in the role of Dowager Empress Maria Feodorovna in the new Broadway musical Anastasia, opening on Broadway on April 24, 2017 at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street). Peil originated the role in the world premiere production at Hartford Stage.

Eric Sciotto Will Step in as Shakespeare in SOMETHING ROTTEN!

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, SOMETHING ROTTEN!'s current cod-piece clad Shakespeare -- Will Chase -- will depart the show on October 9, and will be replaced temporarily by understudy Eric Sciotto. Sciotto will assume the role through October 23. A permanent replacement has not yet been announced.
