On Sunday, May 20, at The Annenberg Theatre in Palm Springs Marisa Moehno of Murrietta Valley High School and Garrett Hoy of Musical Theatre University were named the LucieA Award Winners for Outstanding Actress and Actor, respectively, at the Lucie Arnaz Awards for High School Musical Theatre. The Lucie Arnaz Awards were created and founded by David Green, who's Broadway alumni include Tony nominees Stephanie Block, Susan Egan, Lindsay Mendez and Matthew Morrison, to name a few, in collaboration with Ms Arnaz in an effort to support, sustain, grow and inspire quality performing arts experiences for young people in The Inland Empire. Earlier this evening, Pittsburgh CLO Guild President Anne Liparulo announced the Guild's pledge of $500,000 to Pittsburgh CLO's Next Generation Campaign at the 62ndAnnual Pittsburgh CLO Guild Gala, "An Evening in Paris." This special gift was presented as a surprise to Van Kaplan, accompanied by the 2017 CLOE Award, in honor of his 20th Anniversary as Executive Producer of the organization. The Palm Springs Cultural Center and Musical Theatre University (MTU) are teaming up this year to create a brand new holiday show - White Christmas - A Palm Springs Holiday Spectacular. 'This is a perfect way to celebrate the holidays with the whole family,' said David Green, Founder of Musical Theatre University. 'We plan to screen the holiday classic, White Christmas, at the Camelot Theatres, and combine the screening with a live thirty minute fully staged holiday production featuring the kids from Musical Theatre University.' This is the first time any theatre in The Inland Empire has combined a live theatrical event with a motion picture screening. And as an added treat -- it will actually SNOW in the theatre! (more...)

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 36 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2016 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 19 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration. Tony Winners Kelli O'Hara & Sutton Foster Added to Broadway Concert Series at Kimmel Center

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, in partnership with Mark Cortale, has added two new leading ladies to the line-up of Seth Rudetsky's Broadway Concert Series, for the 2015-16 season. Performances by Tony-Award winners Kelli O'Hara and Sutton Foster have been added due to popular demand, completing the roster of Broadway powerhouses to perform with Sirius XM star Seth Rudetsky. The series kicks off with Tony-Award winner Audra McDonald on Wednesday, October 7. Additional performances in the series will take place on Friday, January 29 (Kelli O'Hara), Thursday, March 3 (Sutton Foster), and as previously announced, Thursday, May 5 (Megan Hilty). All performances will be held at the Merriam Theater at 8:00 p.m. In this unique series, Rudetsky will serve as pianist and host, engaging in intimate and witty conversations with the Broadway stars, all while presenting an evening of stellar performances of musical theater favorites.
