The National Alliance for Musical Theatre (NAMT) has announced the selections for its 22nd Annual Festival of New Musicals taking place on Thursday, October 21 and Friday, October 22, 2010 in New York City.

In response to audience requests, First Folio is remounting its world premiere show, The Madness of Edgar Allan Poe: A Love Story.

SiNNERMAN Ensemble presents the Midwest premiere 'Too Much Memory,' a contemporary exploration of human desperation, political histrionics, hilarious confrontations and tragic relationships, by Keith Reddin and Meg Gibson, directed by Anna Bahow.

La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts kicks off its 2010-2011 Programs for Young Audiences series with Kennedy Center Theater for Young Audiences On Tour newest national touring production, Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Musical. With music by Grammy Award winning composer Michael Silversher, six-time Emmy Award winning author/illustrator Mo Willems adapts his Caldecott Honor winning children's book Knuffle Bunny into a brand new family musical. Directed by Rosemary Newcott with choreography by Paige Hernandez. The production is recommended for children ages 4 and up. Performances are Sunday, October 24, 2010 at 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.

Adapted for the stage by David Rice and directed by Michael Goldberg, Madness... brings Poe's macabre and melancholic tales & poems to life as audience members move from room to room. Poe and his beloved wife Virginia guide the audience through historic Mayslake Hall, taking their guests from the garrets to the dungeons and deep into the madness of Edgar Allan Poe. Piven Theatre Workshop extends its 2009-10 season with the Chicago premiere of Sarah Ruhl's adaptation of Chekov's Three Sisters, directed by Artistic Director Emeritus Joyce Piven. The production will run October 16 - November 21, 2010 at Piven Theatre Workshop, 927 Noyes Street

The Bach Festival Society of Winter Park, in partnership with the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, invites high school students to compete in the 18th Annual Young Artist Competition. Prizes are awarded in both the preliminary and finalist rounds for a total of $5,000, one of the largest combined prize winnings in the state.
