The Wayward Artist is thrilled to announce performance dates for the Tony-award winning musical Avenue Q with lyrics and music by Jeff Marx & Robert Lopez and book by Jeff Whitty. The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust has announced the recipient of its 2021 JazzLive Legacy Award is Dr. Harry Clark, a distinguished administrator of 30 years for Pittsburgh Public Schools and supporter of arts programs in schools. The award was established by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust in 2018 to acknowledge a regional jazz artist for their incredible contribution to this music genre in Pittsburgh and beyond.

The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and TV's Fred Rogers had two things in common-they prioritized the beloved community, that we should all have the opportunity to be seen and heard by our neighbors regardless of identity affiliation; chosen or not. In this spirit of kindness and compassion, the Faith Always Wins Foundation (FAWF) and the Kansas City Interfaith Youth Alliance (KCIYA) are co-hosting a free screening of the documentary film 'Won't You Be My Neighbor' for high-school age students. The showing will take place on Martin Luther King Day, Monday, Jan. 21. The free film will be shown at AMC 20 Town Center followed by a panel discussion led by members of KCIYA's Leadership Team. Doors open at 4 p.m.; the film will begin at 4:30 p.m. with the program concluding by 7 p.m.

Philadelphia's Bearded Ladies Cabaret returns to The Wilma Theater with You Can Never Go Down the Drain after their New York City run at La MaMa and Joe's Pub at the Public Theater. Mr. Rogers always said: no matter how bad things are, 'You can never go down the drain.' Using and abusing iconic songs from the children's show, John Jarboe, Artistic Director of Philadelphia's Bearded Ladies Cabaret, puts this idea to the test. For this performance, expect a goldfish funeral, gay romps into the land of make-believe, and some earnest questions about irony. You Can Never Go Down the Drain runs for ten performances between June 20th to July 1st at The Wilma Theater.
