Laura Cantrell to Play Rough Trade NYC, 10/27

Nashville-born, New York City-based singer-songwriter Laura Cantrell will perform at Rough Trade NYC on October 27. The show is in support of Cantrell's critically acclaimed new album, No Way There From Here, which is out now on Thrift Shop Recordings. In celebration of the release, Cantrell recently performed the album tracks 'Starry Skies' and 'Can't Wait' on 'CBS This Morning.'

The Shapiro Sisters, 11-year old Milly Shapiro (Matilda, Original Broadway Cast of Matilda The Musical) and older sister, 14-year-old Abigail Shapiro (Cindy Lou Who, How The Grinch Stole Christmas), recorded the album live at the famed 54 BELOW over a series of three performances this past May and June.

Le Petit Theatre's new season gets off to a whirlwind start with 'Nine Lives: A Musical Witness of New Orleans' today, August 27, 28 and 29. Stephen Wallem Will Bring A BURLEY NIGHT MUSIC to Birdland Tonight

Birdland: Jazz Club NYC, presents Stephen Wallem in 'A Burley Night Music' the concert, with direction by Tony-nominee John Tartaglia and musical direction by Beckie Menzie, is a musical and anecdotal retrospective of a very high voice trapped in a very large body. Featuring song from Wallem's big and/or 'simple' guy roles including Shrek in Shrek the musical, Hazel in Pipe Dreams, and Horton the Elephant in Seussical, as well as songs from Hairspray, Elf, Anna Nicole the Opera, The Land Before Time and The Addams Family, all celebrating the big-boned beauty of Broadway and Hollywood. Directed by Tony-nominee John Tartaglia, with original songs, a three-piece band and surprise celebrity guest appearances.

Tony Award-winner Michael Cerveris and producing partners Rick Duplantier and Roxy Bergeron present NINE LIVES: A Musical Witness of New Orleans at Le Petite Theatre (616 Saint Peter St, New Orleans) for three performances only on August 27, 28 and 29th. NINE LIVES: A Musical Witness of New Orleans depicts the personal stories of a diverse selection of New Orleans across the forty years between Hurricanes Betsy and Katrina. Based on the Dan Baum book Nine Lives, the musical is adapted with music and lyrics by Paul Sanchez and Colman deKay, additional lyrics by Michael Cerveris, book by Kimberly Kaye and directed by Jim Fitzmorris.
