Trinity Rep to Open 2014-15 Season with New Translation of IVANOV, 9/4-10/5

Trinity Repertory Company kicks off Season 51: The Necessity of Human Connection with a world premiere translation by Artistic Director Curt Columbus of Anton Chekhov's Ivanov, directed by Brian McEleney (The Grapes of Wrath). Ivanov plays September 4 through October 5 in Trinity Rep's Dowling Theater. Fresh Beat Band Coming to Fox Theatre, 11/9

The Fresh Beat Band, Nickelodeon's preschool music group and stars of the Emmy Award-winning TV series of the same name, are back on the road for a brand-new nationwide concert tour and perform at the Fox Theatre on Sunday, November 9 at 5 p.m. The show will feature Kiki, Marina, Twist and Shout performing the band's greatest hits including “Bananas,” “Here We Go” and a remixed version of “Great Day,” plus new songs including the pop classic, “Walk Like An Egyptian.” Tickets range from $30-$40 and are on sale this Friday, August 8 at www.FoxTheatre.org, by calling 855-285-8499, or at the Fox Theatre Ticket Office.

22nd annual New American Playwrights Project Set for Utah Shakespeare Festival, 8/8-29

The 22nd annual New American Playwrights Project (NAPP) takes the stage at the Utah Shakespeare Festival from August 8 through August 29. Three plays will be presented as staged readings in the Auditorium Theatre at 10 a.m. on selected dates. Chosen from hundreds of plays submitted, this year's lineup includes Six Seconds by Rose-Mary Harrington, Breakout by Dan Borengasser, and Hamlet's Shakespeare by Mary Jane Schaefer.

Shakespeare & Young Company to Stage MARINA AND LOVE DANCE, 8/13 & 15

Shakespeare & Young Company brings merriment, madness, tragedy and passion to the outdoor Rose Footprint Theatre with two original performances -- Marina and Love Dance -- short vignettes compiled from scenes of Shakespeare's work. The performers are acting students aged 16-20 who come from schools across the United States including, The Drama Studio in Springfield, The Pioneer Valley Performing Arts High School in South Hadley, Bard College, Sarah Lawrence College, Arkansas State University and Bard College at Simons Rock. Shows are Wednesday, August 13 and Friday, August 15, both at 5:00 pm.
