HERE has announced four new members of the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP), one of the most robust residency programs in the country and serving as a national model.

Returning to Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival for the first time since 2002, Denver-based modern dance company, Cleo Parker Robinson Dance Ensemble, will perform in the Ted Shawn Theatre from Aug. 17-21, with pieces enriched in emotion, femininity, war, race, and elegance.

On Friday and select Saturday evenings from 5 pm to sunset, July 15 through August 27, Summer Sway will take over The Shed’s public Plaza—created when The Shed’s movable shell is nested—to host free DJ sets, dance sessions, battles, cyphers, and workshops.

The second installment of Up Close, The Shed's new digital commissioning program, features Reggie 'Regg Roc' Gray and the D.R.E.A.M. Ring in Revelation of Proverbs, a dynamic street dance performance within the confines of home. Revelation of Proverbs premieres on Sunday, May 3 at 6 pm EDT on The Shed's social media platforms (@theshedny) and its website at theshed.org.

On Wednesday, July 24, Maze, an immersive dance-theater piece co-directed by choreographer Reggie 'Regg Roc' Gray (The D.R.E.A.M. Ring) and theater artist Kaneza Schaal (Go Forth, Jack &), will premiere at The Shed as a new commission. Performed by masters of flexn, a form of street dance created in Brooklyn, New York, with roots in Jamaican bruk up, this intimate and powerful 90-minute work explores the puzzles, poetry, and infinite challenges of human coexistence.

LOVE, COLE a musical revue of the beloved songs by Cole Porter, opens on Thursday, May 3rd, and continues through May 20 with performances at 8:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00PM; Sunday matinees at 2:30 PM at the Barnstable Comedy Club located at 3171 Main Street, Rte. 6A in Barnstable. Ticket are $25 / $22 for Seniors 62+ and Students.

Open auditions for LOVE, COLE a musical revue conceived and directed by Ann M. Ring, of the beloved songs by Cole Porter will be held on March 12, 13 and 14 at 7:00 PM at the Club's theater located at 3171 Main Street, Rte. 6A in Barnstable. Director Ann Ring and Music Director Lisa Zinck Taylor seek 3-4 women and 3-4 men with strong voices. All vocal ranges are needed. Singers may bring their own sheet music and will be asked to sing 16 bars. Cole Porter sheet music will also be available

From May 1 to 13, approximately one year before opening in spring 2019, The Shed will present a free multi-arts event on an undeveloped lot at Tenth Avenue and 30th Street in Manhattan.

San Francisco Opera presents Richard Wagner's Der Ring des Nibelungen (The Ring of the Nibelung) in three complete cycles, each presented over the course of one week as the composer originally intended, from June 12 through July 1 at the War Memorial Opera House. Encompassing four operas-Das Rheingold, Die Walkure, Siegfried and Gotterdammerung-and more than 17 hours, the story and music of Wagner's Ring are the acme of the operatic artform and one of the most ambitious works of music, theater and stagecraft ever created. In anticipation of the performances, San Francisco Opera today announced a schedule for its Ring Festival events designed to provide the public, from first-timers to experienced Ring-goers, with enriching activities including lectures, symposia, film screenings, musical programs, public discussions and a Ring Community Day for families.

Daniel L. Doctoroff, Chairman of the Board of Directors, and Alex Poots, Founding Artistic Director and CEO of New York's new center for artistic invention, The Shed, today announced an extraordinary lead gift from Bloomberg Philanthropies of $75 million toward the capital campaign for the new institution. Currently under construction on Manhattan's west side, where the High Line meets Hudson Yards, The Shed is scheduled to open to the public in spring 2019.

Ring dance activists take the Park Avenue Armory stage once again with FLEXN Evolution, launching the international tour of the re-envisioned Armory commission co-directed by Gray and visionary director Peter Sellars. 

Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival brings FLEXN, an electrifying street dance to the Ted Shawn Theatre stage, August 17-20. Created by flex dance pioneer Reggie (Regg Roc) Gray with visionary theatre and opera director Peter Sellars, FLEXN confronts today's complicated social justice issues by combining raw personal perspectives with powerful and provocative movement. In order to contextualize the topics addressed in the performance, the show will open with an onstage panel discussion with artists and community leaders debating the current socio-political climate and its impact on Berkshire County.
