Sara Bareilles and Jessie Nelson's 2015 musical adaptation of Adrienne Shelly's film, about a small-town waitress who processes her feelings via her skilful baking, brings its sugar and spice mixture to the West End. The result is a tasty treat - albeit with the odd ill-mixed ingredient. Hollywood Handshakes all round.

Broadway stars Julia Murney, Ashley Brown, Michael James Scott, and Josh Young will appear in a special one night only benefit production of SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD on January 23 as part of Broadway By The Beach. Directed by Daniel Goldstein and written by three-time Tony winning composer Jason Robert Brown, a portion of the proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce Arts Fund dedicated to benefit local arts organizations and education programs.

The Cape Playhouse in Dennis Village is offering a bouquet of smiles for a summer's night with the world premiere of David Zippel's tribute show, THEY'RE PLAYING HIS SONGS: THE MUSIC OF MARVIN HAMLISCH, honoring both the man and his music. This bittersweet labor of love features the virtuoso piano accompaniment of Musical Director Christopher Marlowe, the talents of four singer/actors who all worked with Hamlisch during their careers, and entertaining video clips of the composer commenting on a range of subjects.

Last week on April 20, 2010, Actor's Equity's David Westphal hosted the famed Gypsy Robe Ceremony for company members of AMERICAN IDIOT at the St. James Theatre. A long-standing opening night tradition on the Great White Way, the fabled Gypsy Robe is bestowed upon a veteran Broadway chorus member for each opening production. In what has now become a theatrical ritual, originating on Broadway 60 years ago, LA CAGE AUX FOLLES chorus member Dale Hensley turned over the robe to AMERICAN IDIOT cast member Andrew Call. BroadwayWorld was there for the celebration.

The festival is created, hosted and written by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall. A concert Tribute to Lerner & Loewe started the festival on Friday, October 17th. After the concert the cast celebrated at Spanky's BBQ and the BroadwayWorld cameras followed along!
