Inspired by one fortuitous day that still resonates in the timeline of rock-and-roll history, the Tony Award-nominated Broadway hit MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET--now playing at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa through May 6--is a genuinely enjoyable, musically-rich stage show that's high on marquee value but, as expected, quite lacking when it comes to having a viable narrative. It's a rousing old school concert disguised as musical theater--a forgivable sin thanks to the amazing performances turned in by four actors impersonating legends Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis.

Four students representing the Education Through Music Foundation and the cast of MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET will be the highlight of the Education Through Music's Annual Gala held tonight, May 1, at the Grand Hyatt (109 East 42nd Street). The four children working with the MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET cast are middle school students at St. Anselm School in the South Bronx, an Education Through Music partner school since 2007.

The Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), in association with noted Harvard Business School Professor Clay Christensen and the Disruptor Foundation, announced it will hold the third annual Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Awards, hosted by NYU Stern School of Business, on April 27. On December 4, 1956, four legendary musicians ended up at the same recording studio in what turned into the dream jam session. In 2010, the historic day made history once again with its own Broadway show. And on Tuesday evening, the touring production of Million Dollar Quartet brought all the energy and revolutionary music of the twentieth century to the Sacramento Community Center, a strong beginning to a fabulous week of Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.

Yesterday, April 18, MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET, the hit musical now playing at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street), celebrated the beginning of its 3rd electrifying year in New York and the 300th performance of the show at New World Stages.
