InTouch writes that Adam Shankman, who has directed several episodes of Glee, announced at the recent Dizzy Feet Foundation's gala that friends and co-workers of late Glee star Cory Monteith will create an arts scholarship in his name. The cast and crew just gathered on Thursday, July 25, in a private memorial to celebrate the life Monteith, who died at the age of 31 on July 13, 2013, due to an overdose.

Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, sponsored by the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and additional sponsorship by the New York Times, BARKS will take place on Saturday, July 13 in Shubert Alley, the heart of the Broadway Theater District (located between 44th and 45thStreets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenues). The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.; celebrity presentations of pets from animal shelters citywide will take place between 5-6:30 p.m. This year, BARKS will open the show with a performance from the Jersey Boysfollowed by the Broadway debut of many adoptable animals presented by many stars from this season's 'hottest' shows. This intimate collection of stories by sisters Nora and Delia Ephron and directed by Karen Carpenter is based on the best-selling book by Ilene Beckerman.
