The producers of the recently announced 'A Christmas Carol' production at the Civic Opera House this December regret to announce that Timothy Hutton and Stockard Channing will not be part of this year's production.

An award-winning cast, including Academy Award winners F. Murray Abraham and Timothy Hutton, Emmy Award winners and Academy Award nominees James Garner and Stockard Channing and popular character actors Wayne Knight ('Seinfeld') and George Wendt ('Cheers,' Second City) will bring Charles Dickens' beloved tale of miserly Ebenezer Scrooge and his visit from the three Ghosts of Christmas to life on the stage of Chicago's Civic Opera House from Dec. 22- 27. Tickets will go on sale Friday, Oct. 16 at 10 a.m.

Director Jacob Estes, who made a splash with his 2004 thriller 'Mean Creek,' has recruited as stellar cast for his new black comedy 'The Details.' According to Variety, James McAvoy, Laura Linney, Elizabeth Banks and Anna Friel have all signed on for the independently financed feature.

Emmy and Golden Globe Award winner Laura Linney ('John Adams,' The Savages) will play the lead role in Manhattan Theatre Club's upcoming New York premiere of TIME STANDS STILL by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Donald Margulies. The limited engagement, to be directed by Tony winner Daniel Sullivan (Accent on Youth, Sight Unseen on Broadway, Brooklyn Boy, Dinner with Friends) will begin previews at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) on Tuesday, January 5, 2010 in preparation for a Thursday, January 28, 2010 opening night. The production had previously been announced to play MTC's New York City Center - Stage I.

Motherhood Out Loud, a new American play, conceived by Susan R. Rose and Joan Stein, produced by Ms. Rose, Ms. Stein, Renee Landegger and Judith Resnick, directed by Lisa Peterson, and written by more than 15 writers, will have a special work-in-progress, 3-performance engagement as part of Bay Street Theatre's 2009 'Bay Street at the Parrish' season. Following visionary New York productions of The Misanthrope (2007) and Hedda Gabler (2004), Flemish director Ivo van Hove returns with Opening Night, a U.S. premiere engagement that also marks the New York debut of his company, Toneelgroep Amsterdam. A joint production by Toneelgroep Amsterdam and the Belgium-based company NTGent, Opening Night transforms director John Cassavetes' award-winning 1977 film to the stage. Five performances of Opening Night will take place in the BAM Harvey Theater on Dec 2-6 at 7:30pm.
