The exhibition has been a celebration of the many facets of Jean-Michel’s life, work, and impact by those who knew him best. In celebration of Jean-Michel’s contributions to Hip Hop culture, his friendships and support of other artists, as well as Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary, the Estate of Jean-Michel Basquiat released 50 of the original 500 vinyls.

DMC, Doug E. Fresh, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five and LL COOL J joined Lil Wayne and show emcee Nicki Minaj for a legendary tribute to Hip Hop’s 50th anniversary at last night's VMAs. Watch the video now!

William Electric Black gives his high-energy, high-concept production an immersive touch by bringing the Bard right into the audience's lap.

THE BARD’S DIALOGUE HAS A NEW BEAT – Emmy Award winning writer, director, and composer William Electric Black, aka Ian Ellis James, has assembled 13 actors and musicians to perform the actual Romeo & Juliet Shakespearian text with pop, soul, blues, gospel, hip hop, and rock songs written by William Electric Black. 

The traditional Harlem Holiday Lights celebration, a production coordinated by Barbara Askins, the president & CEO of the 125th Street Business Improvement District (BID), in partnership with Manhattan Community Boards 9 and 10, as well as Mount Morris Park Community Improvement Association, is focusing on a call for Unity and Peace for Harlem, as the theme of the 29th year of this celebration. The event will take place on Tuesday, November 15 (rain date, November 22nd).

A star-studded line-up will celebrate HB95 the 95th birthday of legendary singer, activist and actor Harry Belafonte. The evening will also present the inaugural Harry Belafonte Social Justice Awards in honor of the 10th anniversary of Sankofa.org, the social justice organization Mr. Belafonte co-founded.
