La Brea Avenue) featuring two different, riveting evenings ('A' and 'B' rotating weekly) of new and classic sci fi works. Evening 'A' premieres tonight, May 6. Evening 'B' premieres Tuesday, May 13. The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts has two stages, but most people are only familiar with Sarofim Hall. Nestled on the corner of Rusk and Bagby is the gorgeous and intimate Zilkha Hall, which seats 500. The space was originally planned as a black box theater, and Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) current Artistic Director, Bruce Lumpkin, has great plans for TUTS to utilize the space as such. Alley Company member James Black takes on Boris Trigorin, the writer and lover of actress Irina Arkadina, who is played by Alley favorite Jose de Guzman.
