American Theater Group's first musical theater presentation at its new home at UC-PAC's Hamilton Stage in Rahway, New Jersey, Jonathan Brielle's Himself and Nora opened Saturday April 27, 2013 to an SRO audience. The full cast of Jonathan Brielle's new musical Himself and Nora has been announced. Joining the previously announced Matt Bogart, Jessica Burrows and David Arthur are Cole Burden (25th Anniversary Production Les Miserables) and Lianne Marie Dobbs (A Tree Grows in Brooklyn). The show comes direct from its success at the 2012 New York Musical Theatre Festival. Previews begin tonight, April 24 with opening night slated for April 27.

TRU VOICES New Plays Reading Series Announces 1/25 Submission Deadline for Members

Theater Resources Unlimited (TRU) seeks submissions for the 15th Annual TRU VOICES New Plays Reading Series (deadline January 18, 2013 for non-TRU members; January 25, 2013 for TRU members). TheTRU VOICES New Plays Reading Series is a unique series geared towards nurturing the producer-writer relationship, and is particularly interested in finding producers who are looking for opportunities to develop new works. Shows selected will receive staged readings to be presented in June of 2013. Each reading will be followed by a 'Dollars and Sense' panel discussion with prominent New York producers, general managers and artistic directors focusing on potential venues, marketing and budgeting of the work.

In this bawdy and funny, uplifting, and melodic new musical, "Himself and Nora" sings the story of one of the great love affairs of the time. A love which resulted in their exile from their beloved Ireland, the condemnation of the Catholic church, and ultimately some of the greatest writing of the 20th century.
