With a name lending new urgency to a rhyming couplet from the African-American spiritual 'Mary, Don't You Weep' ('God gave Noah the rainbow sign / No more water, the fire next time') the annual Fire This Time Festival has produced dozens of ten-minutes plays in its mission to 'provide a platform for early-career playwrights from the African diaspora to explore new directions for 21st century theater'.

Lincoln Center Theater has announced new dates for its upcoming production of Epiphany, a new play by Brian Watkins, directed by Tyne Rafaeli.  The play will now begin previews Thursday, May 26 and open on Thursday, June 23 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street).

The world premiere of filmmaker/playwright Ethan Coen's A PLAY IS A POEM currently lives on the Mark Taper Forum stage, produced by Center Theatre Group, in association with Atlantic Theater Company. A collection of five short plays from Ethan Coen's unique take on Americana had been connected together by the interstitial musical musings of Nellie McKay. Neil Pope directs the talented ensemble of Ro Boddie, Max Casella, Micaela Diamond, Peter Jacobson, Jason Kravits, McKay, Saul Rubinek, Miriam Silverman, Joey Slotnick, Sam Vartholomeos, and C.J. Wilson. I had the opportune chance to ask one of Ethan Coen's always-working players Peter Jacobson a few queries.

The cast is set and rehearsals have begun for the world premiere of Ethan Coen's a?oeA Play Is a Poema?? at Center Theatre Group/Mark Taper Forum. Directed by Neil Pepe and presented in association with Atlantic Theater Company, a?oeA Play Is a Poema?? begins performances on September 11 and continues through October 13. The opening is set for September 21.

The Acting Company (Founded by John Houseman and Margot Harley; Ian Belknap, Artistic Director; Elisa Spencer-Kaplan, Executive Director) announced casting today for the second reading in the 23rd John McDonald Salon Reading Series, Frederick Knott's classic thriller Wait Until Dark. DirectTV and Lionsgate have released the trailer for A Vigilante, starring Olivia Wilde. The film will premiere exclusively on DIRECTV on February 28 and in theaters, On Demand March 29.
