Company of Fools Presents CLYBOURNE PARK

Company of Fools' 22nd season of theatre continues in February with a production of Clybourne Park, a searingly funny play by Bruce Norris that won both the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and the 2012 Tony Award for Best Play. Clybourne Park will run Feb. 21 March 10 at the Liberty Theater in Hailey and will be directed by Denise Simone, one of Company of Fools' founding members and a Core Company Artist until late 2016. The play is produced in conjunction with The Center's BIG IDEA project This Land Is Whose Land?

Lifeline Theatre Artistic Director Dorothy Milne Steps Down

As Lifeline Theatre continues its 35th season, long-time Artistic Director Dorothy Milne has announced she will transition out of her leadership role during the coming year. I love my job and I won't be leaving Lifeline, Milne said. I will still be an active ensemble member and volunteer. But I'm over 60 years old and I look forward to spending more time away from a desk.

Casting for American Ballet Theatre's The Nutcracker, co-presented by Segerstrom Center for the Arts and ABT, was announced today by Kevin McKenzie, ABT Artistic Director and Terry Dwyer, Segerstrom Center President. Choreographed by ABT Artist in Residence Alexei Ratmansky, The Nutcracker will be given 13 performances at Segerstrom Center for the Arts, December 7-17, 2017. Misty Copeland and Daniil Simkin will lead the opening night cast on December 7 dancing the roles of Clara, the Princess and Nutcracker, the Prince, respectively. Subsequent casts include Sarah Lane and Herman Cornejo, Gillian Murphy and James Whiteside, Stella Abrera and Alexandre Hammoudi, and Hee Seo and Cory Stearns in the leading roles.

The production will take place December 7-10, in the Horowitz Visual and Performing Arts Center's (HVPA) Studio Theatre.

The holidays are a special time at The Nash as the renowned jazz club sprinkles a dash of holiday themed concerts throughout the month, bringing classic jazz and hot Latin sounds to warm up the holiday month. Highlights include the arrival of one of the most renowned samba bands, direct from New York City, Duduka da Fonseca Trio w/ Maucha Adnet on December 9th. Both Duduka and Maucha worked closely with the iconic Antonio Carlos Jobin, the King of Bossa Nova.

The event will be held in Warwick's Textron Airplane Hangar and will feature cocktails, light dinner, fun and laughter, plus a live auction and a Shakespeare cabaret performed by Trinity Rep resident actors. Flights of Fancy is co-chaired by Alison & Larry Eichler and Suzanne & Ira Magaziner. Lifeline Theatre's KidSeries presents Montauciel Takes Flight, a world premiere family musical with book by Lifeline Theatre ensemble member James E. Grote, music and lyrics by Russell Coutinho, and directed by Aileen McGroddy. Montauciel's name may mean climb-to-the-sky, but for all her life the young ewe has been stuck on the ground. Then one day, her adventurous spirit carries her to the town of Annonay, where she teams up with the legendary Montgolfier brothers. Bringing her ingenuity and love of science to bear, Montauciel helps the two scientists invent the hot air balloon, and she soon finds herself captaining the first manned test flight, with a duck and a rooster as trusty co-pilots. Take a leap into the unknown and realize your full potential with this world premiere musical inspired by the story of the first living creatures to take to the skies in a human-made flying machine. This production is recommended for children ages five and up (children under two not permitted), and runs approximately one hour with no intermission.
