American Traditions Vocal Competition Announces 2019 Winners

Last evening the American Traditions Vocal Competition (ATC) ended an incredible week celebrating and preserving all styles of classic American music with the 2019 Finals at the Trustees Theater on E. Broughton Street in historic downtown Savannah, GA.

The American Traditions Vocal Competition (ATC) returns for its highly anticipated 26th anniversary season Feb. 18-22, 2019. With an outstanding line up of 28 contestants, three new judges and one new pianist, this year's performances are sure to entertain audiences of all ages.

This world premiere by a Cape May native provides a gritty look inside the life of Constance, an oyster boat captain who is forced to face the truth about her family and the secrets that broke them apart so many years ago.

Mirror Stage Announces First Show for the 2018-19 Season

On the heels of the successful 2017 debut of the Expand Upon staged reading series, Mirror Stage proudly announces Expand Upon: INCARCERATION as the first show of the 2018-2019 Season. For each new Expand Upon in the series, the community selects a theme, and Mirror Stage commissions two local playwrights to develop 30-60 minute plays, using the same multi-generational, multi-racial cast. For the second Expand Upon staged reading, the community chose the theme of Incarceration, and Mirror Stage commissioned The Assailant by Alma Davenport, and The Swimming Pool by Stacy D. Flood.

As part of the inaugural season at The Met Breuer, diane arbus: in the beginning will open on July 12, featuring more than 100 photographs that together will redefine one of the most influential and provocative artists of the 20th century. This landmark exhibition will highlight never-before-seen early work of Diane Arbus (1923-71), focusing on the first seven years of her career, from 1956 to 1962-the period in which she developed the idiosyncratic style and approach for which she has been recognized, praised, criticized, and copied the world over.
