The 2024 Olivier Award-nominated Tall Stories theatre company has announced the appointment of Tara Wilkinson as new Executive Director.

Tall Stories Theatre Company has announced a new residency with Nimax Theatres. Beginning this summer, audiences young and old can enjoy two Tall Stories shows each year in a West End theatre, with tickets priced from just £10.

Experience the world theatre premiere of THE ELMER ADVENTURE, a celebration of David McKee's classic character, this October Half Term 2024 at The Lowry, Salford and the Southbank Centre, London.

Rising London-via-Cornwall four-piece THE VELVET HANDS have dropped their last track of the year, “Over It Now”. Blending hedonistic hooks reminiscent of The Strokes with a slacker kind of storytelling plucked straight from Pavement’s playbook, the band’s latest outing is an anti-capitalist anthem spun with an easy-going, lackadaisical charm.

Hot on the tails of earlier releases “I Wanna Be There” and “Holiday In My Head”, “Telephone Love” is a riotous and raging track. Recorded at The Cube Studios in Perranporth and mixed at The Cave Studios in Par, the track comes as another notch in the band’s ever-growing list of stellar singles. Listen to the new single now!

The cast of four valiant vaudevillians has been announced for Oscar Wilde's uproarious spectacular The Canterville Ghost, which will haunt and delight audiences at the Southwark Playhouse this autumn, as part of a wider UK Tour. The gloriously ghoulish show, directed by Olivia Jacobs, is part of the 25th anniversary celebrations of the award-winning theatre company Tall Stories. See photos from inside rehearsal.

The cast of four valiant vaudevillians has been announced for Oscar Wilde's uproarious spectacular The Canterville Ghost, which will haunt and delight audiences at the Southwark Playhouse this autumn, as part of a wider UK Tour. The production will run Tuesday 11th October – Saturday 5th November 2022. 

The video sees animated imagery and blasts of fuzzy static nod to the band’s DIY sensibilities. Reminiscent of a cut-and-paste punk zine plucked straight from the 1970s, the video sees two floating heads and hand-drawn, cataclysmic visuals put to music as The Velvet Hands deliver a broiling barrage of live-ready rock riffs.

Recently awarded the prestigious British Book Award – Children's Book of the Year (Illustrated and Non-fiction), this joyous story of two star-crossed aliens on a far-off planet is being developed and previewed at Tall Stories' new studio space at Central Library, Islington before receiving its world premiere at the ROSE THEATRE in Kingston-upon-Thames, from 27 to 31 October 2021.

Under Haydon's stewardship, the Rose's own work will be the priority, as demonstrated by the five Rose Originals in this upcoming season, but there will always be room on the theatre's stage for the country's leading touring shows as well.  This season's Rose Originals are a blend of new plays tackling significant contemporary issues and well-known titles reinvented for today.

Olivia Jacobs has announced that she will be stepping down as Co-Artistic Director of Tall Stories, the theatre company she co-founded with Toby Mitchell in 1997, to take on the role of Artistic Associate.

Internationally acclaimed theatre company Tall Stories brings its celebrated production of 'The Gruffalo' to the beautiful Alexandra Palace Theatre for a limited summer season from 30 July - 29 August 2021.
