Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company will participate in The Jamaica Dance Festival 2023, presented by A Better Jamaica, on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 7:00 at Rufus King Park in Jamaica, Queens.

Interdisciplinary artist Maya Ciarrocchi is set to premiere Site: Yizkor/King Manor at the King Manor Museum on Friday, May 19, 2023, at 8pm.

Milwaukee Rep will host the second annual Next Narrative Monologue Competition a new, national program for high school students featuring the work of contemporary Black playwrights created by Kenny Leon’s True Colors Theatre Company. 

Milwaukee Rep will present The Compass by Michael Rohd performed by the 2021/22 Professional Training Institute (PTI) ensemble July 28 – 31, 2022 in the Stiemke Studio at Milwaukee Rep.

Black Arts MKE collaborated with Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. Epsilon Kappa Omega Chapter Sorority to provide a unique week-long summer camp opportunity in dance.  I AM. Masterclass will expose local youth to James Gilmer, an accomplished Black artist with the internationally acclaimed African American dance company – Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater.

Milwaukee Rep has announced the continuation of the Professional Training Institute (PTI), an advanced actor training program for students in 9-12 grade.  The class of 2021/22 will consist of 15 students from 10 different high schools.

After going virtual since March 2021 and creating several productions online, the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company has announced its return to performing for live audiences, both indoor and outdoor presentations, with Jamaica Dance Festival 2021 in NYC and Summer Heat Festival 2021 in Tulsa, OK

Two winners, Yexuanj Rivera Melendez from Milwaukee High School of the Arts and Fardowso Shidad from Rufus King High School, with alternate Kamani Graham from Pius XI High School, were selected to represent Milwaukee in the National competition on May 3, 2021. 

Milwaukee Rep selected 10 local high school students to participate in the regional finals of the 2021 August Wilson Monologue Competition (AWMC) to be held virtually on Monday, March 29, 2021.

Milwaukee Repertory Theater is pleased to announce the 2017/18 Professional Training Institute (PTI) ensemble, an advanced actor training program for students in 8th-12th grade who may have an interest in pursuing a career as a professional theater artist.   The 2017/18 PTI ensemble includes Elliott Brotherhood, Juliana Garcia-Malacara-Flynn, Lindsay Gleason, Durran Goodwin Jr., Kamani Graham, Meguire Hennes, Nathan Kabara, Maricella Kessenich, Logan Muñoz, Bradley Nowacek, Reese Parish, Dominic Schiro, Payton Elizabeth Stovall, Kenyon Terrell, Saleaqua Winston, and Mainyia Xiong.  These sixteen students hailing from fourteen different high schools will receive free training from some of the top theater professionals in the world, culminating in a capstone summer performance where they will be employed as paid, professional actors.

Following the enormous popularity of the Tony Award winning musical HAMILTON, The Library of Congress has now digitized a collection of historical documents written by the Founding Father. The collection, consisting of approximately 12,000 items dating from 1708 to 1917, are now available online
