Melbourne Theatre Company opens its 2024 season with Seventeen. Performances run 15 January - 17 February.

GWB Entertainment and Red Line Productions have announced that Arthur Miller's timeless Pulitzer Prize-winning classic, Death of a Salesman, will be given a new once-in-a-lifetime production at Melbourne's Her Majesty's Theatre.

Award winning independent company Australian Contemporary Opera Co (ACOCo),  in partnership with The Wheeler Centre and Fed Square, presents Philip Glass’ divisive  Book of Longing — a unique and intoxicating collaboration between two of the most  celebrated musical artists of their generation. Featuring Richard Piper as the voice of  Leonard Cohen, this evening length operatic concert performance of poetry, songs and  music, incorporates projections of Cohen’s poems and drawings and will be staged for one  night only at The Edge, Federation Square. 

ACOCo’s 2022 season sees the award winning independent company roar back to live performance with seven shows all directed by women, including five Australian premieres,    and new presentation partnerships with The Wheeler Centre, the Melbourne Recital Centre, and, wait for it, the MCG (Yarra Park).

Following their smash-hit collaboration on Twelfth Night, director Simon Phillips and musicians Kate Miller-Heidke and Keir Nuttall reunite for another spectacular slice of Shakespeare; the big-hearted comedy As You Like It, opening on Thursday 18 November at Southbank Theatre.

Known for their creativity and contemporary vision, Flinders Quartet will premiere Bartók, My Father, selected movements from Bartók's six quartets interwoven with personal stories, culminating in a performance of Bartók's fifth string quartet.

The Australian Shakespeare Company’s fantastic summer season is back, with a COVID-19 safe performance of the beloved Shakespearean comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream at The Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne.

An Australian Shakespeare Company classic and the jewel in the Shakespeare comedy crown, A Midsummer Night's Dream is returning to Melbourne this year to dazzle and delight audiences of all ages. 

Melbourne's longest running professional string quartet, Flinders Quartet is pleased to present the world premiere of Hidden Thoughts II: Return to Sender, a brand-new work for female voice, narrator and string quartet from renowned Australian composer Dr Katy Abbott. The concert will be performed and streamed live to homes across Australia, direct from the Melbourne Digital Concert Hall on 23rd July.

International success story, COME FROM AWAY continues to attract accolades around the world, after today receiving the most nominations in the 2020 Green Room Awards.

The critically acclaimed musical COME FROM AWAY today announced its final three cast members ahead of the Australian premiere at the newly refurbished Comedy Theatre, Melbourne in July.

Internationally acclaimed star of stage and screen Miriam Margolyes (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) returns to Melbourne Theatre Company as the cantankerous Miss Shepherd in Alan Bennett's extraordinary and mostly true story, The Lady in the Van, directed by Dean Bryant (An Ideal Husband).

The critically acclaimed new musical, COME FROM AWAY is now playing on Broadway, Toronto and a third company is touring North America. A Dublin and West End production are currently in rehearsal and the Australian company will have its premiere on Saturday 20 July 2019 at Melbourne's Comedy Theatre.

Due to unrelenting demand, Melbourne Theatre Company's production of Twelfth Night will now play until Wednesday 9 January with four extra performances added to its already extended season at Southbank Theatre.

Today Melbourne Theatre Company announced the full cast and creative team for Simon Phillips' upcoming production of Twelfth Night as rehearsals began this morning at MTC HQ.
