The Springer Opera House Theatre has announced that the Courier Eco Latino newspaper has presented Associate Artistic Director Keith McCoy the prestigious Lift Him Up Award.

Direct from Broadway, the ultimate seaside party musical, “Escape to Margaritaville” opens May 5 on the Springer Opera House mainstage and runs through May 21. With a live onstage Caribbean rock band, this happy romantic musical comedy features iconic Jimmy Buffett tunes like, “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” “Son of a Son of a Sailor,” “Fins,” “It's Five O'Clock Somewhere,”  and the fan-favorite title song, “Margaritaville.”

On Tuesday night, the Springer's longtime producing artistic director, Paul Pierce, gathered his staff onstage in Emily Woodruff Hall for an historic announcement. 

Comedy and chaos take center stage as the Springer Opera House Theater continues its 2022 - 2023 season with The Play That Goes Wrong.

In some ways, you might call it a “little” show.  Two actors playing 21 characters, lighting-fast costume changes, simple set, few props – performed in the Springer's intimate, 300-seat theatre, The Dot.  And yet, A Tuna Christmas has proved to be so popular that people see it year after year and urge friends and family to travel long distances to see it with them.  

The announcement comes as SHOWTIME Basketball’s successful video podcast ALL THE SMOKE WITH MATT BARNES AND STEPHEN JACKSON drops a new, revealing interview, her first sit-down since her 2021 departure from ESPN, where Nichols opens up about her journey in sports media and what has led to this next chapter.
