Piccione - discussing the importance of raising mental health awareness in the arts, entertainment & pop culture, in the hopes of furthering our festival's mission of fueling conversation on these topics, and possibly finding new solutions to helping those who are struggling.

Chance Theater is pleased to announce the completion of its $890,000 'Bold New Home' capital campaign. The fundraising drive began two years ago, has received strong support from several prominent community members, and has given the Chance a new theatrical home, which is known as the Bette Aitken theater arts Center, in honor of gifts totaling over $285,000 from community leaders Wylie & Bette Aitken.

Chance Theater is excited to announce that we are entering the final push in our bold new home capital campaign drive, thanks to a $50,000 challenge gift from a group of Chance supporters - community leaders Wylie & Bette Aitken, Larry & Sophie Cripe, Mary Kay Fyda-Mar, and Tod & Linda White. 'So many people have worked so hard and given so much to help make this dream come true,' says Mary Kay Fyda-Mar, immediate Past Chair of the Chance Theater Board. 'They say it takes a village, but I like to say that it takes a family.'

On Saturday, February 7, Chance Theater's Board of Directors, staff and resident artists held a special event to honor their major capital campaign donors and give them a literal standing ovation. The guest of honor at the event was community leader, Bette Aitken, whose husband Wylie surprised her last year with a $250,000 gift to the Chance to name the theater's new home after her.

Roger Buckwalter, Chair of the Northern Palm Beaches Cultural Alliance (NPBCA), recently announced the election of new officers and members to the Board of Directors. The election took place at the May 9 meeting, held at the Lighthouse ArtCenter in Tequesta.

East bound and down Indiantown Road, Jupiter, Florida on Saturday, March 22nd, a long line of custom cars and vintage Trans Ams followed a tractor trailer emblazoned with scenes from the old West into Pennock Industrial Park. The reason - the grand opening of Bubba's East Coast Rods and Customs - home toreality tv stars Bubba and Tom Lloyd and some of the most beautiful automobiles ever built. Bubba, 25, is an exceptionally talented master craftsman and designer, with a reputation for building some of the best cars in the industry. He and his dad already have a successful show on the Velocity channel - Hot Rod Reality - now airing its sixth season. The show won a coveted Silver Telly Award. Soon, a second show will begin airing on a major television network.

At Saturday's grand opening of Chance Theater's Bold New Home, Wylie Aitken, a major arts supporter and chair of the California Arts Council, announced that he has made a $250,000 contribution to name the new home of the Chance after his lovely wife, Bette Aitken. The new name will be the Bette Aitken Theater Arts Center. The official dedication ceremony will be scheduled soon.

Recently on a lark, two longtime friends and indie press authors collaborated on a light hearted Christmas story called 'Merry Christmas India Stone'; a sweet romance set for inclusion in Melange Books' Holiday Hopes digest. Chance Theater presents the fourth show of its 15th Anniversary Season - the Tony nominated drama Time Stands Still by renowned playwright Donald Margulies, and directed by Marya Mazor. The Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre (BRIFT) announced the offering of acting and film making classes at ArtStage Performing Arts Center in Tequesta beginning in September. BRIFT, a non-profit dedicated to educating and involving the community in all aspects of the performing arts, had been looking for temporary office and classroom space while fundraising to build a new Institute in Burt Reynolds Park. The ArtStage location is ideal as it was once home to The Burt Reynolds Institute for Theatre Training (BRITT). Returning to the Tequesta is an opportunity to blend fond memories with artistic development for students attending both BRIFT and ArtStage classes.
