More than a dozen artists including Lisa Bastoni, Sadie Gustafson-Zook and Rob Siegel will perform some of Griffith's greatest songs from her 36 year career.

The festival of films that will stream over 11 days will include the documentary feature DYKES, CAMERA, ACTION! – a history of Lesbian cinema from the women who made it happen, PS. BURN THIS LETTER, PLEASE – a profile of drag queens from the 1950s, when public cross dressing was illegal; and PROPER PRONOUNS – a look at some of the transgender Americans serving as ordained Church ministers.

Passim announced that it has awarded $40,000 to 24 musicians through its Iguana Music Fund. The Iguana Music Fund awards gifts annually to musicians for career building projects and for projects that provide community service through music. Established in 2008 after an anonymous donor approached Passim with the idea to start a program to support local artists' career growth, the fund provides grants from $500 to $2,000 for musicians with a New England connection.  

The holidays are a special time at The Nash as the renowned jazz club sprinkles a dash of holiday themed concerts throughout the month, bringing classic jazz and hot Latin sounds to warm up the holiday month. Highlights include the arrival of one of the most renowned samba bands, direct from New York City, Duduka da Fonseca Trio w/ Maucha Adnet on December 9th. Both Duduka and Maucha worked closely with the iconic Antonio Carlos Jobin, the King of Bossa Nova.

Phoenix's renowned jazz club packs it in for November, bringing several of jazz's hottest acts to downtown.

The Detroit Repertory Theatre's 2013/2014 Season will have a Champagne Opening and Celebration on November 07, 2013. The highlight of this 57th Opening Night at the Rep will be the Midwest Premiere comedy A FACILITY FOR LIVING by Katie Forgette. The rest of the season are all World Premiere plays that span a range of issues: a powerful story about the changing music scene in the 1960's in America as a metaphor for the race riots happening at the time; a mystery about 3 Cherokee 'blood brothers'; and finally a twisted comical romp about a professor who meets a student who has taken his teachings about animal rights literally.
