The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) announced winners of its 27th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards in 14 categories of film, television, commercials, music videos and animation features, during a black-tie dinner gala at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown on Saturday night, February 18, 2023. 

Luis G. Hoyos, award-winning set designer best known for Memoirs of a Geisha, Dreamgirls, will receive the Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) Lifetime Achievement Award from the Set Designers & Model Makers Council (SDMM). The ceremony will take place at the 27th Annual Art Directors Guild’s Excellence in Production Design Awards.

The Art Directors Guild (ADG, IATSE Local 800) has announced that Illustrator/Storyboard Artist Janet Kusnick will be presented with an Art Directors Guild Lifetime Achievement Award by the Illustrators and Matte Artists (IMA) Council. The celebration will take place at the 27th Annual ADG Awards on Saturday February 18, 2023, at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown. Making the announcement was Guild President Nelson Coates, ADG and Awards Producers Michael Allen Glover, ADG and Megan Elizabeth Bell, ADG.

Yvette Nicole Brown is an Emmy-nominated actress, writer, producer, singer and host. Her numerous movie credits include Disney’s Disenchanted, Avengers: Endgame, Dreamgirls, Tropic Thunder and the live-action remake of Lady and the Tramp. Brown has an extensive voiceover career and has been a guest and co-host on such shows as The View.

Oscar-nominated Baz Luhrmann is a master storyteller and pioneer of contemporary visual culture, writing, directing, and producing across film, opera, theatre, events and music. His signature blend of drama, romance, decadence and wit fuses high and low culture, a unique sonic and cinematic language and trademark theatrical aesthetic.

SET Solutions NYC is utilizing artisans who work in theatre set and event fabrication shops to help build re-usable modular outdoor dining spaces for restaurants in New York City. Not only is SET Solutions NYC helping restaurants further adapt to outdoor dining, but they are also putting people in the performing arts industry back to work.

Television winners included The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Bill Groom), The Handmaid's Tale (Mark White, Elisabeth Williams), The Alienist (Mara LePere-Schloop), Glow (Todd Fjelsted), and Sesame Street (David Gallo) respectively. Additional winners include Apple: Welcome Home(Christopher Glass) and The Oscars: 90th Academy Awards (Derek McLane).

The black-tie gala, themed “Landscape of the Imagination,” will be held Today, February 2, 2019 at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown. The announcement was made today by President Nelson Coates ADG and Awards Producer Scott Moses ADG.
