PBS KIDS Announces New Series HERO ELEMENTARY


Today, PBS KIDS announced a new animated series, HERO ELEMENTARY, set to premiere in the summer of 2020.  HERO ELEMENTARY is a school for budding superheroes, where kids learn to master their innate powers, like flying and teleportation, while exploring science along the way. HERO ELEMENTARY aims to give children ages 4 to 7 the tools to solve problems by thinking and acting like scientists and igniting their natural curiosity and empathy. This new multiplatform series, co-produced by Twin Cities PBS and Portfolio Entertainment, will debut nationwide on PBS stations, the PBS KIDS 24/7 channel, and PBS KIDS digital platforms.

CONFESSIONS OF A MORMON BOY Now In Rehearsal at Bay Street Theater


Bay Street Theater and Sag Harbor Center for the Arts is pleased to announce that Confessions of a Mormon Boy, a special Mainstage Season bonus production, is now in rehearsal. Confessions of a Mormon Boy is written and performed by Outer Critics Circle Award Nominee Steven Fales and directed by Bay Street Theater's Artistic Director, Scott Schwartz. The one-man play will have five showings only from July 17 - July 22 and is Part 1 in Fales' new Mormon Boy Trilogy. Performances will be held on Tuesday, July 17 at 7 pm; Thursday, July 19 at 5 pm for a special Twilight Performance; Friday, July 20 at 8 pm; Saturday, July 21 at 5 pm for a second Twilight Performance; and Sunday, July 22 at 2 pm. Steven Fales, whose one-man show CONFESSIONS OF A MORMON BOY was a hit at the former Bailiwick Arts Center in 2005, will bring that autobiographical play back to Chicago along with staged workshop readings of two new pieces that detail an earlier period and a later period of Fales' life.

The TMA recently announced the agent and casting director nominees for the 14th Annual Heller Awards, along with two other Lifetime Achievement honorees: legendary agent Jack Gilardi (ICM Partners) and casting director Craig Fincannon (Fincannon and Associates).

The Talent Managers Association (TMA) announces this year's nominees for the 14th Annual Heller Awards. Each year, the TMA honors colleagues in talent representation and casting with a live ceremony. Lifetime achievement honors will be presented to legendary agent Jack Gilardi from ICM Partners and casting director Craig Fincannon of Fincannon and Associates. Additionally, awards are presented to agents and casting directors for their work throughout the year, who've been nominated by the TMA members. The organization will host this year's event at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Thursday, November 10, 2016 from 6:30 PM to 11:00 PM.

Fighting Chance Productions to Present FACING EAST, 4/23-5/14


FACING EAST, based on a play by CAROL LYNN PEARSON follows an upstanding Mormon couple faced with the suicide of their gay son. When they unexpectedly meet their son's partner they must face a reality long ignored, and reconcile feelings with beliefs. After workshops in Chicago and Dallas the show had a developmental charity concert at the Lyric Theatre in London, England starring several West End artists, directed by Ryan Mooney. This world premiere is the first time the show will receive a full production, with a Canadian cast and production team, and is the 40th production for FIGHTING CHANCE PRODUCTIONS.
