Black Theatre Troupe received The August Wilson American Century Cycle Award, as they do its namesake more than justice. And in a time when representation is key, this theatre is and has always answered the call.

One of the few theatre companies in the nation to have produced all 10 of August Wilson's American Century Cycle plays, Black Theatre Troupe will present the acclaimed JOE TURNER'S COME AND GONE from February 3 to 19, 2023.

JOE TURNER'S COME AND GONE was the first Wilson play produced at the Huntington in 1986, the beginning of a 19-year relationship that saw all ten of his American Century Cycle plays chronicling the African American experience in the 20th century performed on the local stage.

August Wilson's Pittsburgh Cycle, also known as the American Century Cycle, is made up of ten plays, written between 1982 and 2005. Each set in a different decade in Pittsburgh's Hill District (with the exception of Ma Rainey's Black Bottom), the plays are meant to depict the Black experience throughout the 20th century.

The Huntington has announced the casting and creative team for the highly anticipated revival of August Wilson’s Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, directed by Lili-Anne Brown. Wilson’s masterpiece serves as the inaugural production of the newly renovated Huntington Theatre and runs from October 14 – November 13, 2022.

Joe Turner's Come and Gone will open the 2022 season at South Bend Civic Theatre. The second installment of playwright August Wilson’s American Century Cycle, Joe Turner’s Come and Gone is set in a Pittsburgh boarding house in 1911.

Trinity Rep continues its 2019-20 Season with the final play from American theatrical legend August Wilson - Radio Golf. Directed by resident acting company member Jude Sandy, the show features resident acting company member Joe Wilson, Jr., as Harmond Wilks, a man determined to revive his childhood neighborhood without considering the emotional cost. Both moving and funny, Radio Golf is the culmination of August Wilson's ten-play American Century Cycle chronicling each decade of African-American life in the twentieth century. Pocket Universe - the company behind last summer's acclaimed Off-Broadway production of Julius Caesar set in an all-girls highschool - has announced casting for the upcoming adaption of Beaumont & Fletcher's THE MAID'S TRAGEDY, set in present day Hollywood.

The Theatre School at DePaul University is pleased to present August Wilson's Joe Turner's Come and Gone on the Fullerton Stage at The Theatre School at DePaul University.  The production, directed by Phyllis E. Griffin, premieres on Friday, November 6, and runs through Sunday, November 15, 2015. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Previews are on November 4 and 5, at 7:30 PM.

Goodman Theatre, in collaboration with Chicago's various off-Loop theaters and Northwestern University, unveils partial programming in its spring 2015 citywide "August Wilson Celebration" -- an extensive retrospective of the late playwright's life, artistry and influence on American culture. The seven-week Celebration takes place in March and April 2015 on dual landmark occasions: the 70th anniversary of the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright's birth and the 10th anniversary of his death.

Acclaimed playwright August Wilson's New York Drama Critics Circle Award-winning drama, Joe Turner's Come and Gone, will close out the 6th season for The African American Repertory Theater (AART). Vince McGill, a founder of AART and respected veteran of local stages, returns to Dallas to head the cast in this production as Herald Loomis. These works, nine of which have been staged on Broadway with stars including Denzel Washington, Viola Davis, Charles Dutton, among many others, showed the suffering, joys, and triumphs of African-Americans through searing, poetic and personal stories of everyday people in Pittsburgh, PA.
