For one show only, Frank Ferrante will perform his acclaimed portrayal of legendary comedian Groucho Marx in Frank Ferrante's Groucho.

On Tuesday, October 19th, actor-comedian-director Frank Ferrante, will receive the 443rd 'star' on the Palm Springs Walk of Stars in Palm Springs, CA.  Palm Springs Mayor Christy Holstege will present Ferrante with a proclamation acknowledging his contributions to the theater during his 35-year career.

On October 2nd at 4:OOPM PT, the 130th anniversary of comic legend Groucho Marx's birth will be marked on Facebook Live by host actor/director Frank Ferrante featuring phone-in interviews with an array of Groucho's family members, friends and experts. Dearborn Street. Musical Theatre Guild was founded 21 years ago by a dedicated group of professional musical artists who were interested in exploring and preserving works from the musical theater repertoire that were either forgotten, neglected or unfairly dismissed. Working under a special Actors' Equity Concert Staged Reading code, the entire MINNIE'S BOYS production was put together in 25 hours, focusing on the script and score with actors holding book during the performance, including while singing and dancing their way through the 14 numbers in the show, with a wonderfully talented 6-piece band backing them up.

Musical Theatre Guild revived an oldie but not so goodie last Sunday at the Alex Theatre. 'Minnie's Boys' purported to be modeled on 'Gypsy,' using a meddlesome, domineering mother to get her progeny, the four Marx Brothers, into show business. Unfortunately, a tepid book and uneven score made this a flop in 1970 and it doesn't fare much better today, despite the valiant efforts of the MTG cast.

For more than thirty-three years Frank Ferrante has been channeling Groucho Marx. His highly- acclaimed one-man show, 'An Evening with Groucho' has triumphed in New York, London, Australia, and across the U.S., as well as on PBS. Ferrante's tour-de-force stays fresh and fascinating because it relies so heavily on improv and audience interaction that, twelve-hundred shows later, no two performances are alike.

Musical Theatre Guild, the winner of the Los Angeles Drama Critic's Circle Margaret Harford Award for sustained excellence in the theatre, has announced an exciting quartet of shows for their 23rd season of Broadway in Concert musicals.  The MTG 2018-2019 season includes: MAME, ZORBA, MINNIE'S BOYS and SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE.

Julius, Adolph, Herbie, Leo, and Milton - names that are not at all familiar in the American comedic lexicon.  However, almost any mention of Groucho, Harpo, Zeppo, Chico, and Gummo will immediately elicit nods of recognition, and in most cases happy smiles.   Broward Stage Door Theatre will present the musical Minnie's Boys - the tale of how the sons of Minnie Marx became The Marx Brothers - one of the most beloved and respected comedy acts in history.  Minnie's Boys will open on June 30th and run through August 6th in Stage Door's Theatre 2.

Actor/director Frank Ferrante who won acclaim for his stage portrayals of legendary comedian Groucho Marx in New York, London and PBS television returns to Australia for a 35 city tour in An Evening With Groucho beginning September 30th, 2016 and playing through November 26th. Ferrante will cover much of the country including New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and Victoria with stops in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Perth and Brisbane.
