New England's premier Gypsy Jazz Group, Rhythm Future Quartet will perform at the Spire Center for Performing Arts on January 12th. The four-person acoustic jazz ensemble performs dynamic and lyrical arrangements of both Gypsy jazz standards and original compositions that draw upon diverse international rhythms and musical idioms. This engaging duo has shared many musical experiences which they will showcase, joined by bassist Rick Crane, drummer Tom Sayek, and saxophonist Anton Denner. The concert takes place at the Bickford Theatre on Thursday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m.

New York City organist/pianist, Brian Charette, has established himself as a leading voice in modern Jazz. Charette is a Grammy-nominated, Hammond-endorsed artist who was the winner of the 2014 Downbeat Critics' Poll Rising Star: Organ award and has climbed to 4th place in The Critic's Poll main organ category. In 2015 Brian also won The Hot House Magazine's Fan's Decision Jazz Award for Best Organist in New York. His last Positone Records recording, Once and Future, reached #17 on the Jazz Week chart and was also on the iTunes new music Top 20. This Summer, Brian just released his new Circuit Bent Organ trio recording, Kurrent, and featuring Ben Monder.  Groovin' With Big G on Steeplechase Records release date is March 15. The CD features legendary saxophonist George Coleman, guitarist Vic Juris and drummer George Coleman Jr.

The New York Jazz Workshop is celebrating its 10th anniversary with 16 music programs and jazz camps for young adults and older musicians in New York City this summer.

Bill Warfield's career as a trumpeter was launched the moment he heard Lew Soloff's immortal solo on the Blood, Sweat & Tears hit 'Spinning Wheel.' 'It just completely knocked me out,' says Warfield, who was 18 at the time and gigging as a pianist, having given up hope of earning a living as a horn player due to dental problems. 'I'd never heard anything like it. I decided at that point that I wanted to play the trumpet again.'

On Sunday, October 23, at 7pm, Claudio Roditi opens the Luna Stage 2016-2017 'Music in the Moonlight' jazz series, with Brazilliance. Roditi will highlight his original compositions, including 'The Monster and the Flower', 'Piccolo Blues', and 'Ballad for JGL'. He will be accompanied on keyboards by Matt King, a Thelonius Monk International Jazz Piano Competition finalist, who has performed with such artists as bassist Rufus Reid, drummer Billy Hart, and guitarist Vic Juris.
