Theater Breaking Through Barriers the only professional Off-Broadway theater company dedicated to advancing artists and developing audiences of people with disabilities, recently took a contingent of 14 artists to Japan’s Tottori Prefecture to participate in the 15th BIRD International Theatre Festival. Theater Breaking Through Barriers has announced their 6th Virtual Playmakers’ Intensive — VPI6: STAR CHANGERS, fifteen new, original short plays created specifically for digital platforms. Each play will be presented live, twice each evening.  A talk-back with the artists will follow each performance.

In one of the most ambitious commissioning and performance projects in recent years, world-renowned shakuhachi (Japanese bamboo flute) master, Riley Lee, has joined forces with the Enigma Quartet to create an entirely new genre of music.

Friends Johannes Brahms and  Robert Schumann, were both enamored with Robert's wife Clara Schumann, a virtuoso pianist and a composer.  Clara, the muse, is evident in all of Schumann's music and his Fantasiestucke expresses the passion found in the free imagination of the composer.

The Trout Quintet is said to evoke the splash of darting fish in the Austrian alpine stream, where Schubert was inspired to compose in the summer of 1819, drawing from his earlier adaptation of a poem.

Flinders Quartet, Melbourne's premier string quartet, makes its debut appearance at North Sydney's spectacular Independent Theatre this June 18 - with special guest cellist, Timo-Veikko Valve - in a mouth-watering program of chamber pieces for strings by Schubert, Boccherini and Sculthorpe.
