Received a 2015 Lortel Nomination as Best Supporting Actor in a Musical for Pretty Filthy with The Civilians. With David Rossmer, co-wrote and starred in The Other Josh Cohen at the Soho Playhouse (Drama Desk noms for Best Actor, Best Book of a Musical, Best Music and Best Lyrics). On Broadway he originated the roles of Sir Bedevere, et. al. in Spamalot, Harlan Honn, et. al. in The Farnsworth Invention; and played Benny Southstreet in the 2009 revival of Guys & Dolls. Steve also played Nathan Detroit on the national tour. Recent Off-Broadway credits include Jacob Sherman in CQ/CX at the Atlantic Theater Company as well as Black Stache in Peter and the Starcatcher at New York Theater Workshop and Smee at New World Stages. He is a co-creator with Mr. Rossmer, Dan Lipton and Sarah Saltzberg, of the long-running comedy Don’t Quit Your Night Job. In concert he has appeared with the Collegiate Chorale in Knickerbocker Holiday (Alice Tully Hall) and The Mikado (Carnegie Hall). He has appeared regionally in the world premiere of Mr. Burns. A Post-Electric Play at The Woolly Mammoth Theater in Washington, DC; Bay Street Theatre, La Jolla Playhouse, New York Stage and Film, Goodspeed, and others.
