Actors Theatre of Indiana has announced casting for the first show in their 2022-2023 season – NUNSENSE: A musical. 

Following a tumultuous year and a half for the theatre industry due to the worldwide Covid-19 Pandemic, The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre is preparing to open its new 2022 Season in January with one of the installments of Dan Goggin's hilarious Nunsense Series. 

Sometimes walking into a theatre, you know next to nothing about a show. Now that can end up being an experience where you are counting down the minutes until it is over or where you end up being so enthralled by the production that you are sad when the lights come up. The IT Girl is definitely the latter of those two examples. Playing until June 23rd, the final show of Meadow Brook Theatre's season brings the classic silent movie musical to life with an extremely talented cast lead by Sara Kmiec (Betty Lou Spence) and Nathan Cockroft (Jonathan Waltham) that truly makes you feel like you have stepped back in time right inside a black and white movie. The IT Girl is a wonderful piece of Michigan Theatre!

In The IT Girl, Betty, a sassy department store clerk has something special. It's enough to win an advertising contest looking for the girl with "IT," but will it be enough to charm the heir to the retail empire that employs her?

The acclaimed Second Act Series, which has presented an array of lesser-heardmusicals in concert, will present the beloved musical comedy Nunsense on Monday, March 19th. The one-night-only concert reading will star an array of former Nunsense cast members, including Helen Hayes Award-winner Patti Mariano (Original Broadway Cast of The Music Man, Godpsell, I Had A Ball, The Full Monty, 42nd Street) and Tari Kelly (Groundhog Day, Something Rotten!, Anything Goes).

Theater professionals from across Michigan will gather Aug. 28 when The 2017 Wilde Awards are presented at The Berman Center for the Performing Arts in the Detroit suburb of West Bloomfield.

Meadow Brook Theatre is filled with the beloved music of Irving Berlin in its spring performance of "I Love a Piano." As one of the premiere composers of American Music, Berlin's classics include, "Blue Skies," "There's No Business Like Show Business," "Always," and "White Christmas," all featured in 'I Love a Piano.' This magnificent musical tells the story of a special piano as it travels through a hundred years of American lives.

This holiday season, Flat Rock Playhouse will present the classic A Christmas Carol from November 17 through December 17 on the Clyde and Nina Allen Mainstage in the Village of Flat Rock.  Adapted from the Charles Dickens novel for the stage by Richard Helleson, A Christmas Carol features original music and lyrics adapted from traditional sources by David De Berry.  Returning to Flat Rock Playhouse by popular demand since its record-breaking 2014 run, A Christmas Carol is sure to delight, entertain, inspire and enchant. When writer Dan Goggin imagined and produced his line of greeting cards featruing sassy nuns, few people would have predicted their instant success or the award-winning, full-length musical after the fact titled Nunsense. When the show's premiered on Broadway in 1985, the Nunsense phenomena continued with numerous revivals and sequels, and includes being adapted for the television screen. Fish Creek's Penninsula Players Theatre (PPT) reprises the rolicking musical from their 1987 season with a spectacular cast that shines another light on these angelic Little Sisters from Hoboken.

The perennial favorite literally comes to life on the stage in a spectacular new production featuring all the classic elements with a few new twists. It tells the story of bitter old miser Ebenezer Scrooge and his transformation resulting from supernatural visits by Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future. The industrial setting of 19th century England gives way to a story filled with hope and joy with original songs and amazing puppetry. All the well-known characters retell the magical and uplifting story from "Bah! Humbug!" to "God bless us, everyone!"

Now on stage at Meadow Brook Theatre in Rochester is Cole Porter's 'You Never Know', a delightful musical from 1938. If you are like me, just say the words "Cole Porter" and I'll be there! This is the final production of the season, which has offered a wide variety of genres to fit everyone's taste.

Hidden identities and high society collide to provide a spirited evening of song and dance and slamming doors in "Cole Porter's You Never Know." The Baron Rommer has the penthouse suite at the Hotel Ritz in Paris for the summer of 1929. The baron's butler's head has been turned by a lovely society woman, but at his station, he knows he doesn't stand a chance. If he were only a baron…. What could he do but trade identities with his boss? But that's only the first of the misunderstandings and mix-ups that will have you laughing.
