Lifeline Theatre to Resume its Production of MIDDLE PASSAGE


Lifeline Theatre is presenting Middle Passage directed by Lifeline Artistic Director Ilesa Duncan April 25 – June 5 at Lifeline Theatre, 6912 N. Glenwood Ave.

BWW Review: MIDDLE PASSAGE at Lifeline Theatre


In Lifeline Theatre's MIDDLE PASSAGE, the intimate Rogers Park venue transforms into the scene of a 19th century maritime epic. Artistic Director Ilesa Duncan and David Barr III adapt Charles Johnson's award-winning 1990 novel for the stage, and Duncan directs. The sprawling tale follows a recently freed slave as he journeys from the gambling dens of New Orleans to the heart of the African slave trade and back again.

The Michigan Shakespeare Festival, the official Shakespeare Festival of the State of Michigan, brings a Season Of Rebellion to the Great Lakes region with As You Like It, Richard II, and the Civil War drama The Killer Angels, a play by Karen Tarjan based on Michael Shaara's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel about the Battle of Gettysburg.

Something Marvelous to Present Gina Doherty's DON'T LOOK


Something Marvelous, Chicago's annual magical realism festival, gears up for opening their 2016 full length production Don't Look by Gina Doherty. This world premiere production, directed by Artistic Director Emmi Hilger, will open June 17th and run through July 3rd at the Den Theatre (1333 N Milwaukee Ave.) Performances will be Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights at 7:30PM, Sundays at 3:00PM, with one additional performance Saturday June 25th at 3PM.
