Sara is a professional actor, musician, and educator based in New York City. She holds a BFA in Musical Theatre Performance from Kent State University, an MFA in Acting from Wayne State University, and a Certificate of Advanced Training from The Moscow Art Theatre School. As a teacher and coach, Sara has facilitated workshops on Rhetoric, Shakespeare's Original Staging Conditions, Chekov-based ensemble building, and more. Since obtaining her MFA, Sara has helped to produce and design the Michigan premiere of Rajiv Joseph's "Gruesome Playground Injuries" in Detroit with a small group of professional friends. During a brief layover between Detroit and NYC, Sara worked with Great Lakes Shakespeare Company in Cleveland, Ohio on their production of Shakespeare's "The Winter's Tale". As an actor, she worked as a company member with NYC's Random Access Theatre Company before becoming a resident actor and education artist for two seasons with the American Shakespeare Center (some favorite roles include Roxane in "Cyrano de Bergerac", Thaisa in "Pericles", and Vittoria Corombona in "The White Devil"). She has been a proud member of Hedgepig Ensemble Theatre in NYC for over 4 years. Most recently she has been on stage in Hedgepig's productions of Mary Zimmerman's "Secret in the Wings" and William Shakespeare’s "All’s Well That Ends Well", at the Ensemble Studio Theatre, in Gateway Playhouse's "As You Like It" as an actor and music composer/director, and in local and national television and commercials spots.
