ROB LIPPERT has designed sets for over 50 shows and currently is the Resident Scenic Designer for New Line Theatre in St. Louis as well as a regular scenic designer for Stray Dog Theatre.



Rob has been a part of the St. Louis theater scene since 1973, including more than 30 shows for Cathedral Players Guild and more than 35 shows at Looking Glass Playhouse in Lebanon, IL.



Rob was artistic director at the Cathedral Players Guild in Belleville from 1985 until 2004.



Rob made his design debut New Line Theatre in the fall of 2013, designing both set and lighting for Night of the Living Dead for which he recently received a 2014 St. Louis Theater Circle Award for Outstanding Lighting Design .



He has been involved in all aspects of production. He has designed and fabricated sets for more than fifty productions and was nominated for a 2012 Arts for Life Best Performance Award for Scenic Design.



In recent years, he has directed productions of The 39 Steps, The Grapes of Wrath, and Dancing at Lughnasa.



He has appeared on stage as Marcus Lycus in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, George in The Drowsy Chaperone, Lt. Frank Cioffi in Curtains, and Andre in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels.



He holds a bachelors and a master of architecture from Washington University in St. Louis. Rob is a licensed architect and a principal at the firm U-Studios Incorporated in Swansea, IL. He resides in O’Fallon, IL with his wife, Kathleen.
