Dublin alt-rock / postpunk artist Ava Vox presents the single 'Silent Tear', the latest dark rich offering from debut album 'Immortalised', an 8-track collection that is dark and delicious, gothic-infused and evocative of shady places and shadowed lands. Launched in 2020, Ava Vox is the solo moniker of Elaine Hannon, formerly of 1980s gothic rock / post-punk band The Seventh Veil. A Dublin native, she now lives in County Meath. With a unique vocal timbre and commanding delivery, her musical style ranges from goth rock and post-punk to slow melodic atmospheric and dynamic rock.

It should come as no surprise whatsoever that the opening night audience for NCT's holiday season offering of Disney's The Little Mermaid rewarded the cast and crew with loud cheers, sustained applause and, more importantly, their rapt attention - were it not for the fact that last night's audience was comprised primarily of (how will we say it without offending?) more experienced theater-goers.

Jazz at Atlas (JAA) will present life-long Hudson Valley resident and celebrated trumpeter, cornetist and composer Ted Daniel and his ensemble, the International Brass & Membrane Corps (IBMC), at Atlas Studios, 11 Spring St. in Newburgh on Saturday, July 21 at 8 PM. Recognized for his artistic mastery and inspirational career, cellist Yo-Yo Ma returns to the McCallum Theatre for a captivating recital with long-time collaborator Kathryn Stott, one of Britain's most versatile and imaginative pianists. Yo-Yo Ma's multi-faceted career is testament to his continual search for new ways to communicate with audiences, and his personal desire for artistic growth and renewal. Whether performing new or familiar works from the cello repertoire, coming together with colleagues for chamber music, or exploring cultures and musical forms outside the Western classical tradition, Mr. Ma strives to find connections that stimulate the imagination.

Even though they are two centuries apart, composers Ludwig van Beethoven and Pulitzer Prize-winning Caroline Shaw both speak with a provocative voice that is raw, earthy, and dug deep from the soul. Conducted by CSO Music Director Rossen Milanov, the full program will include Haydn's Symphony No. 59 ("The Fire"), an original Caroline Shaw composition for violin and orchestra titled Lo, and Beethoven's Symphony No. 6 ("Pastoral"). Shaw will be the featured guest violinist in Lo.

CSO Music Director Rossen Milanov will lead the Columbus Symphony in a performance of two of the world's most iconic symphonic landscapes-Respighi's The Pines of Rome and Strauss' An Alpine Symphony.
