The 62nd Annual Drama Desk Awards, hosted by Michael Urie, were held at The Town Hall (123 W. 43rd Street) just last night, June 4th.

19 students from drama schools across the UK were today awarded £67,500 worth of bursaries by Society of London Theatre (SOLT) in order to help them complete their training. The Clothworkers' Foundation bursary is worth a total of £37,500 over five years with £7,500 awarded to a student annually as part of the Laurence Olivier Bursaries scheme.

Annette McLaughlin will join the company of Matilda as Mrs Wormwood from today, 21 August 2012. She will play alongside Haley Flaherty and Steve Furst, who have recently joined the Company as Miss Honey and Mr Wormwood. Josie Walker performed as Mrs Wormwood for the last time on Sunday 19 Augus

The Royal Shakespeare Company's world premiere production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical has captured the imagination of young and old alike and continues to play to packed houses at London's Cambridge Theatre.

David Leonard will take over the role of Miss Trunchbull from today, 3 July 2012 and Annette McLaughlin will join the company as Mrs Wormwood from Tuesday 21 August 2012. They will play alongside Haley Flaherty and Steve Furst who have recently joined the Company as Miss Honey and Mr Wormwood. Bertie Carvel's last performance as Miss Trunchbull took place on Sunday 1 July and Josie Walker will perform as Mrs Wormwood for the last time on Sunday 19 August.

The Royal Shakespeare Company's world premiere production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical offers more tickets go on sale offering access to performances through until Sunday 17 February 2013.

The show transfered to London's West End and opened November 24 to tremendous critical acclaim. Today, Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post that the show is now aiming to open on Broadway in the Spring of 2013, produced by the RSC themselves and overseen by Andre Ptaszynski, who formerly ran Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Really Useful Group.

RSC artistic director Michael Boyd announced at a press conference last week that the Mailda team will travel to New York at the end of January to discuss future Broadway plans. Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that The Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Roald Dahl's Matilda The Musical, which is slated to transfer to London's Cambridge Theatre on October 18 of this year, is lined up for Broadway in 2013. Riedel explains that Matilda director Matthew Wachus is hoping to bring the show in then so that he can focus on moving his other West End property, Ghost, to Broadway next season.
