Micheal Musick BIO

I have been involved in theater and live performance for over 40 years working as an actor, musician, stage manager, writer, set designer, lighting designer, costume designer, sound designer, carpenter, producer, camera operator, event coordinator, director, booking agent, administrator, teacher and consultant.

My professional training began with an internship at Music Theater of Wichita. Graduating from Kansas State University, joined the Complex Improvisational Theater as an Actor/Writer. Progressing to Business/Touring Manager.

In New York City, became Operations Manager for Westbeth Theatre Center, Greenwich Village. Served on development teams for; Cy Coleman's Musical "The Life" Director Joe Layton, "The Cardigans" "The Taffetas" and "Laughing Matters" Directed by Martin Charnin.

Orpheum Theater NYC, Asst. Stage Manager and understudy for "Quiet on the Set" Directed by A.C. Weary written by Terrell Anthony of "The Guiding Light". Credit as member, original production team.in the Samuel French script

Other NYC productions teams include; La Mama, Chicago City Limits, Boys Club of New York, Mannis School of Music, Jewish Repertory Theater among others. Worked special events and productions with Ken Billington Lighting, technical support for the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA).

My next move, Las Vegas, Asst. Company Manager for Errol Manoff’s Fantasy Factory at the Excalibur Hotel & Casino. Tour Manager, Fantasy Factory's United States Tour and residency Harrah's Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City.

Moved on to Los Angeles. Worked on "Doogie Houser M.D." and a variety of movies and commercials including Nordic Track American Skier as the "before guy”. All Payments Services handling payroll for the film and television industry.

Completed Master’s program at The Ohio State University in Arts Policy and Administration. Managed the Battelle Endowment for Technology and Human Advancement (BETHA), and worked in IT for the Office of the President, E. Gordon Gee. Had the opportunity to intern at the Contemporary American Theater Company (CATCO).

I was appointed, Fine and Cultural Arts Manager for Johnson County Park and Recreation District as the Executive Producer for The Theatre in the Park, largest outdoor community theatre in the United States.

Served as the Cultural Events Coordinator for the Bureau of Cultural Affairs at Western Illinois University.

I had the opportunity to serve as the Executive Director at the City of Morganton, NC Municipal Auditorium (CoMMA). Unfortunately, COVID devastated our Country.

I have served on a number of regional, state and local panels/boards including: Arts Council of Johnson County, Idaho State Arts Commission, Nevada State Arts Council, Bi-State 2 Tax Proposal, Johnson County Sequential, and current Board Member of American Opera Studio.
