The Chocolate Factory Theater has announced the closing of its longtime home at 5-49 49th Avenue in LIC, Queens - and the launch of its new permanent facility at 38-29 24th Street, one mile north.

Queens Public Library (QPL) will present a virtual panel discussion on Monday, April 26 at 5 p.m. (ET) featuring experts who will examine the long history of discrimination and hatred against Asians, the dramatic increase in violence against them in the past year, and how advocacy organizations, law enforcement agencies and elected officials are responding to it.

The NYC Department of Cultural Affairs has announced $51.3 million in grants to support public cultural programming at 985 organizations across New York City as part of its fiscal year 2020 annual funding cycle. The funds support groups working in a vast range of disciplines, serving audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Together, the hundreds of cultural organizations receiving this support form the backbone of New York City's vibrant cultural life. The total includes funding set aside for underserved communities and major new investments in nonprofits that directly support individual artists working throughout the city. The agency continues to prioritize funding equity for culture in every corner of NYC and support for goals outlined in the CreateNYC cultural plan.

The Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment today announces the first-ever study of its kind, 'ALL NEW YORK'S A STAGE: NYC Small Theater Industry Cultural and Economic Impact Study.' This groundbreaking report calls attention to the vibrance of the small theater community, and offers an in-depth portrait of the size, makeup, location, overall cultural importance and economic impact of the sector; as well as the challenges the industry is facing.

Fall is about to get festive at Flushing Town Hall! The global arts venue will unveil its fall season a?" filled with more than 30 programs to entertain audiences of all ages and backgrounds a?" at a news conference on Thursday, September 5, 2019. The launch event will feature mini-showcases, including from Roberta Piket.

Due to travel issues, Omar will not perform at SummerStage in Marcus Garvey Park tonight,  August 14th. Jazz & hip-hop vocalist  Jose James will now be performing as part of tonight's show.

The City Parks Foundation SummerStage Concert Series presents over 100 shows in all 5 NYC Boroughs throughout the Summer. The best part? Capital One City Parks Foundation SummerStage opening night is set to take place on Saturday, June 1st at the newly upgraded flagship venue in Central Park. The night will feature New York City native, the soulful R&B singer songwriter Emily King, along with developing artists and deep soul revival band Durand Jones & the Indications, Brooklyn-based singer songwriter Madison McFerrin, and DJ Reborn. The first guests of the night will receive a special limited-edition commemorative giveaways. 

The 2019 lineup has been announced for the "Broadway in the Boros" series, featuring free noonday performances by cast members and musicians of hit Broadway musicals in neighborhoods throughout New York City. Back for a fourth consecutive summer, this year's "Broadway in the Boros" is bringing songs from four 2019 Tony-nominated shows as well as perennial award-winning favorites to new neighborhoods citywide, in public plazas that have deep resonance for the city and those who live nearby.

Quintet of the Americas, Queens' renowned woodwind quintet, will present an evening of new music, including Mexican composer Arturo Marquez's Danza de mediodia, Brazilian-American composer Ricardo Romaneiro's minimalist piece Ventos, Xinyan Li's Mo Suo's Burial Ceremony, Valerie Coleman's Tzigane and Owl City's Fireflies.

Green Space is pleased to announce a diverse roster of artists for its signature programs this March. Take Root will present an evening of work by DeLucia Benson Dance and Six Degrees Dance, curated by Chris Ferris, on March 15th and 16th, and Fertile Ground showcases works-in-progress by multiple dance artists on March 17th.

Quintet of the Americas, Queens' renowned woodwind quintet, will be in concert on Sunday, February 3 @ 3:00 PM at Bartow-Pell Mansion Museum, 895 Shore Road, Pelham Bay Park, Bronx, NY, as part of the Composers Now Festival.

Flushing Town Hall and New York City Council Member Daniel Dromm have announced an Open Call to LGBTQ performing artists based in New York City to participate in a fifth annual LGBTQ cultural event on Monday, May 13. Applications are due by March 15.

In 2019, Flushing Town Hall offers a breadth of outstanding global music, family programs, exhibitions, jazz and workshops. From January through June, Flushing Town Hall will present 72 programs, including 18 world music shows, 10 jazz performances, eight family programs, seven classical music concerts, three exhibitions, and more.  The spring season is a continuation of 40th anniversary celebrations of the Flushing Council on Culture and the Arts (FCCA), the steward of Flushing Town Hall.

Green Space has announced a diverse roster of artists for its signature programs this December. Take Root will present an evening of work by Ramona Sekulovic and Inclined Dance Project on November 30th and December 1st, and Fertile Ground showcases works-in-progress by multiple dance artists on December 2nd.
