Laguna Playhouse announced, in association with Gare St. Lazare, Ireland and the Rubicon Theatre Company, Faline England, Sorcha Fox, Conor Lovett and Joe Spano starring in the rolling Southern California premiere of THE REALISTIC JONESES, written by Will Eno and directed by Judy Hegarty-Lovett.

Rubicon Theatre Company will present the Southern California premiere of THE REALISTIC JONESES, Wednesday, January 25 at 7:00 pm, with a press opening on Saturday, January 28 at 7:00 pm, running through Sunday, February 12.

Casting is announced for The Tempest by William Shakespeare, which will be the first production in Deborah Warner's inaugural season as Artistic Director of the Ustinov Studio in Bath.

The Samuel Beckett specialists, Gare St Lazare Ireland have staged Beckett's 1964 novel How It Is over six years. Last month, they reimagined the entire novel for film and they will stream it as part of Dublin Theatre Festival 2021 (Oct 1- 7 2021). 

As part of Cork Midsummer Festival 2021, Corcadorca Theatre Company will present “Where is the Horse?”.  FitzHenry, a theatrical Anglo-Irish horse, is visiting this year's festival taking in the city and its environs until 27th June.

Corcadorca Theatre Company are currently in the process of developing a large-scale, outdoor, theatre piece based upon Frank O'Connor's seminal short story 'Guests of the Nation' which will be presented as part of Cork Midsummer Festival in 2022.

Actors Stephen Dillane, Conor Lovett, and award-winning Irish company Gare St Lazare return to The Coronet Theatre with the UK premiere of How It Is (Part Two), the second stand alone part of a three part staging of Beckett's novel, following the success of Part One in 2018 '... you experience moments of pure wonder, when all sense of time and space disappears and you enter a strange, other world, with Beckett whispering cool truths in your ear.' Irish Arts Center and Baryshnikov Arts Center join forces again to present the U.S. premiere of Colin Dunne's Concert, in which he takes on the widely influential Irish fiddle player Tommie Potts' iconic—and notoriously choreographically challenging—1972 album The Liffey Banks, armed with an LP, tape recorder, portable speakers, and sheets of flooring. Choreographed and performed by Dunne, and created in collaboration with director Sinéad Rushe and composer and sound designer Mel Mercier, Concert, which The Irish Times, in a five-star review, described as “warm, funny, respectful, and irreverent,” comes to Baryshnikov Arts Center November 14-16.

The greatly anticipated World Premiere of the Gare St Lazare production of How It Is (Part 2) by Samuel Beckett, a co-production with The Coronet Theatre in London, in association with The Everyman will open at The Everyman in Cork on Thursday next, September, 5th. The production of How It Is (Part 1) was acknowledged as a highlight of the year by many last year and How It Is (Part 2) promises to deliver on all fronts.

Baryshnikov Arts Center (BAC) announces the Fall 2019 season of dance, music, and multimedia presentations, running September 27 through December 6. The Award Winning Corcadorca Theatre Company are delighted to return to Cork Midsummer Festival with a new production of Enda Walsh's, “The Small Things”, to be performed at the Old Waterworks, Lee Road, starring Peter Gowen and Pauline McLynn. Opening on June 17th and continuing until June 29th, with previews on June 14th and 15th, it will be directed by Corcadorca's Artistic Director, Pat Kiernan, music and sound design will be by his long-time collaborator, Mel Mercier, and set and lighting by Paul Keogan.

Heresy Records has announced the release of Testamenta new album by theater composer Mel Mercier, the son of Peadar Mercier, (one of the founders of The Chieftans) who was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Sound Design of a Play, and a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Sound Design.Testament is an album of eleven music compositions by Mel Mercier (born. 23. December, 1959), and holds the titles of Composer/Percussionist/Professor, and Chair of Performing Arts at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick.

On Friday 25th January 2019 Heresy Records will release Testament, an album of eleven compositions by Mel Mercier (b. 23. December, 1959), Composer/Percussionist/Professor and Chair of Performing Arts at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick. Mel was first introduced to music by his father, Peadar Mercier, a member of the Chieftains, who taught him to play the Irish traditional percussion instruments, the bodhrán and bones. As one of the world's leading Irish percussionists He has performed and recorded with many of the leading artists in this genre including, Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin, Donal Lunny, Pallé Mikkleborg, Martin Hayes, Liam Ó Maonlaoi, Alan Stivell, Iarla Ó Lionáird, Caitríona O'Leary and Bill Whelan.

Reuniting the award-winning design team from the 2017 festival hit, Far Away, including Mel Mercier, Aedin Cosgrove and Paul Keogan, The Numbered sees Corcadorca return to Cork's iconic Fitzgerald's Park where they staged the acclaimed production A Midsummer's Nights Dream in 2001.
