IU Theatre & Dance will continue its triumphant return to live productions with Carrie: the Musical, the infamous adaptation of Stephen King's terrifying novel featuring a score by Michael Gore and Dean Pitchford (Fame, Footloose, Camp) and book by original screenwriter Lawrence D. Cohen.

Reston Community Players continues its 53rd season with The Diary of Anne Frank, an impassioned drama about the lives of eight people hiding from the Nazis in a concealed storage attic. Based on a true story, Anne Frank tells the story of the two-year ordeal through the writings of the title character, whose optimism in the midst of a dark existence has served as a guide for generations. The Diary of Anne Frank runs February 28-March 14 at the Reston Community Center.

Something Rotten! roared into town this week. And judging from the high-energy opening night, audiences won't be lifting their noses at this hybrid Shakespeare/Musical production. The title itself is a quotation from one of Shakespeare's best-known plays and includes the ubiquitous use of exclamation points in titles of musicals. Additionally, this particular quote points to some of the plot points in the storyline.
